Hello,

I am a homosexual male that has a lot of misconceptions about the GLBT community, and decided to throw myself in the deep end before my friend did it for me. My misconceptions range, and vary. I would consider myself accepting and more importantly, acepting of myself.

One of the misconceptions that I have are that sites and forums like this are all dedicated to the anonymous hook-ups of same-sex attracted males. There are others, but I think that I would be flamed if I told them all in one thread. *laughs*

A Second year at Uni, in Australia, I study Chemistry and Geology. Enjoying all the usual things; Docter Who, Video games, Beach, and hanging out with my mates, etc.

I for one come to this site to chat/post on politics, sports and other issues and don't use it as a hook-up site. I find most Jubbers to have wide-ranging interests and opinions and it's quite fun to talk about them. And I've also found Jubbers to be out in front of me on news stories so I can find things out and then go off and read more about it. For instance, it was on JUB who David Tennants replacement would be before it was announced in the American Press. So I was able to find related stories and then be able to tell my friends about it.

i think you will find this site is definitely not a hook up sight at all. we added that to this subforum along with "newbies" because we would have a few folks making threads like that and we didn't have anywhere to put them.

anyway if you have questions about coming out or what not you might try posting in the coming out /relationships/ bi subforum. nice group of folks in there and they are very supportive.

there are certainly sites on the web dedicated to hooking up. but this is the internet and you are going to find str8 sites like that also (such as adultfriendfinder.com) that's a hook up site but i think it's mostly for str8s.

I have already came out, it is simply learning what I can about the wider community. Where I study you can say that nearly all the guys just want some arse (or tail.)
