..... well she was supposed to speak at noon, but she will be fashionably late. This is just another example of political posturing that needs to be changed.

You and the others here need to get over the Clinton hate.

Thank you for posting this, I'm going to check out the TV.

Check my posting history ..... its not about hating Hillary at all. I've been calling for unity from the beginning. When I was working, if I showed up late for a meeting with my boss .... I wouldn't have had a job for very long. We the public are her and every other politician's bosses. Its time they begin to realize that!

I have not spoken hatred towards Hillary. I have said many times that she needs to stay in the primaries as long as she thinks it is necessary. Hillary right now is stating Barack has won and has asked her supporters to back Barack as they have backed her.
I think to become united you Hillary supporters need to also stop the hatred toward Barack. That means you Lost and Midnight. We are in this together and it needs to be together or we will have 4 more years of boy george.

Great speech! This is the dignity, heart, and intelligence I was hoping she would go out with. I can see many glimmers of why I first admired Hillary Clinton in the first place. Well done!

Hopefully it helps to reverse some of the suicide bomber mentality of that more fanatical faction of her supporters (and I recognize that both campaigns have their fanatical factions).

IMO, it was a very good unifying speech she gave. Her references to supporting gays was a very welcome addition. It was a little light on her praise of Obama's achievements but enough to begin the much needed healing process in the Democratic Party. ..| If she works as hard to get him elected as she did on her own campaign, it will be successful and she will remain a powerful political leader to be reckoned with for as long as she is in public life.

Now, lets get about the job of defeating John McCain and winning as many Congressional seats as possible!

Smelter, politicians are always late for events - the other day Obama was late for his big speech. In this case, I don't think you can charge Hillary with political posturing. I agree with Evil Force - a lot of bad blood has flowed under the bridge since this campaign began. I think the hatred also has to stop toward Hillary rather than just the other way round - there's been no shortage of it from Obama supporters in these forums. XXX

I know that ..... my criticism was directed at all politicians, not just her!

so sad...I'm devastated....just devastated......

Well I know how I'd feel if the reverse was happening. I would feel gutted too. This has been a long race for both sides. And it's a sad fact that at the end of both historic campaigns only one can "win".

It might be cold comfort, but I really do believe we're all on the same side. (*8*)

Short & simple...Hillary did a GOOD job..Now on too November for a Democratic victory!!!...Obama in 2008

So sad. Brought back memories of Al Gore's final concession speech in 2000. My God, the candidate really must be emotionally spent when fighting for a dream for so long on such a public stage, then it just ends...gotta be a tough pill to swallow. But, she was a trooper...wonderful speech and overall fantastic job.

For all those vocal Hillary haters, several TV commentators reminded us that in '76, Reagan never did this kind of fine endorsement for Pres Ford nor did Teddy Kennedy do this for Pres Carter. I suspect Obama is quite delighted by her strong call for unity.

Teddy Kennedy refused to even shake Jimmy Carters hand! Now that,s a poor loser!

I am watching a recap of her speech right now, as I didn't see it live. But from what I am hearing, I think she did a good job.

I am also convinced that after what I am hearing, she will be at the top of Obama's VP list.

Yes, I find it interesting that Ted Kennedy ended up endorsing Obama.

Anyways, I have always, and will continue to have respect and admiration for Senator Clinton. This is the first election in my life that I've put so much of my time, money, and importantly, heart and emotion into. I thought she was very very gracious, generous, and supportive of Obama. This speech was a testament to Hillary's genuine support for a united Democratic party and to our nation. Many people have called her a "B****" or a bad politican. However, throughout the primary season, I've seen her evolve from just a smart woman who is married to a former president, to a truly populist heroine. I can only hope that the people who doubt her and even despise her, will one day realize that she is one of the smartest and intelligent women in politics today, who really does care about disadvantaged citizens. Whenever she decides to run for president in the future, I will be even more enthusiastic to support her.

I thought she gave a good speech. Not one of her best, but considering how difficult it must have been, kudos to her!

If I were her I think I'd collapse in a heap in my own bed and not see the outside light of day for a week or two as I caught up on my sleep. Sleeping in a new place every night in a hotel sucks.

I was thinking the same thing. She just becomes unbearable when you're not aligned with her.

Memorable lines:

"Eighteen million of you, from all walks of life ... women and men, young and old, Latino and Asian, African-American and Caucasian ... rich, poor, and middle-class, gay and straight, you have stood with me."

"Now, when I started this race, I intended to win back the White House and make sure we have a president who puts our country back on the path to peace, prosperity and progress. And that's exactly what we're going to do, by ensuring that Barack Obama walks through the doors of the Oval Office on January 20, 2009."

"Now, think how much progress we've already made. When we first started, people everywhere asked the same questions. Could a woman really serve as commander in chief? Well, I think we answered that one. Could an African-American really be our president? And Senator Obama has answered that one."

"Now, on a personal note, when I was asked what it means to be a woman running for president, I always gave the same answer, that I was proud to be running as a woman, but I was running because I thought I'd be the best president. But...

But I am a woman and, like millions of women, I know there are still barriers and biases out there, often unconscious, and I want to build an America that respects and embraces the potential of every last one of us....Although we weren't able to shatter that highest, hardest glass ceiling this time, thanks to you, it's got about 18 million cracks in it ... and the light is shining through like never before, filling us all with the hope and the sure knowledge that the path will be a little easier next time."

"So I want to say to my supporters: When you hear people saying or think to yourself, If only, or, What if, I say, please, don't go there. Every moment wasted looking back keeps us from moving forward.

Life is too short, time is too precious, and the stakes are too high to dwell on what might have been. We have to work together for what still can be. And that is why I will work my heart out to make sure that Senator Obama is our next president."

I was very impressed. I think, this will help heal the party.

We cannot afford a Bush third term. McSame = McBush
