Heard about it from one of my gay friends. Watched 4 hours of it last night. Pretty good. Tonight is the last night, right?

Very unigue I must say..... I am wondering if it is a reimagining of the wizard of oz or is it based (loosely) on one the many sequels written by the original author. There are 6 or 7 Oz books i believe.

I watched the first two hours and a bit of the third. I thought this was going to be better. The acting is really bad and the writing is terrible. And don't get me started on the lame special effects.

I've always been a fan of the Oz mythology and am very disappointed with this new miniseries.

Why can't they just make a new version of the Wizard of Oz based on the books (not the mgm musical) without a dumb gimmick like adding god damn muppets or making it futuristic?

A teacher of a friend of mine, she has this really cool german gothic wizard of oz. Its soo errie I love it!

I really liked Tin man

ITS THE O.Z. BITCH!

Agreed. I was extremely intrigued when I first heard about it!
I'll admit I loved the clever 'tie-ins' at first, like DG's waitress uniform being blue checkered (not to mention her name Lol, instead of 'Dorothy.' Nice).

But after they got to the new Emerald City, 'Central City' I just could barely watch it anymore =X. Yes, the acting was really terrible. But I've seen Zooey, Alan, and Neal in other roles; so I can safely fault the writing and directors.

The acting really WAS terrible. The characters reactions were unrealistic and boring. The story had a painful cliche every 5 minutes, and I decided against watching part II.

I COULD be wrong about the show as a whole. MAYBE it does get better? I doubt it though. Either way, what I DID see was dreadful.
I still love the concept of another Oz story (excuse me... 'O.Z'), but this seems to be, unfortunately, a miss in the truest sense of the word. But, thankfully, we still have Wicked ^-^.

Living in Liberal, Kansas -nothing will hold up to our view of all things Oz related...

One of the things that bothered me the most was how bad Zooey was. I think she's a great actress, but something went horribly wrong here. Same thing goes for Alan Cumming. The other guy I haven't seen in anything so I dunno.

^^- I noticed the same thing as I was watching part II & III. Really bad acting. But it was still somewhat entertaining. Don't think that I would watch if it became a series.
