I have this friend, today he will talk to me all friendly and stuff and then tommorow he will act all distant.

Why does he act like that?

Hot today cold tommorow.

Im not a mind reader.

Anyone know someone like this?

Some folks are just "moody", probably nothing personal but still very
frustrating to deal with. I have a friend like that.

I agree with herenthere is just the way people are, actually sometimes I am like that and I can tell you that is nothing wrong with you.
It's just the way to be

^That's what I was going to say... I'm like that a lot, and it's because I'm bipolar. Even though I'm on medication, right now I'm going through a phase where I have a real hard time talking to my friends and making phone calls. So just give the guy a little room to have his mood swings in, and don't take his behavior personally. :D

No, some of us are treated for Major Depressive Disorder. That is different from bipolar, although sometimes I wonder what the fucking difference is. Miserable is miserable whenever we hit the bottom.

And don't be so damned smug. I would not wish on you the knowledge of what depression or bipolarity is, although you probably deserve it just so you could show a bit more empathy; but barring that, just keep your mouth shut if smart-ass answers are all you capable of.

I'd say he might be a tad bi-polar. Its becoming more and more predominant in people. I don't know ifs its always been their and we're just now starting to diagnosis it, or if its a newer thing. Whatever the case may be I know a few people who are bi-polar and its not pretty and its very hard to be close with somebody who is because their all over the place emotionally and it kinda fucks with you.

Er... why do people assume it's a mental disorder of some sort instead of something more Occam's Razor-ish like "he's had a bad day and is tired" or "he's in a bad mood because he didn't sleep well."

Everyone has good days and bad days and we're not all on meds. Or is that just in my neck of the woods?

No one can predict the emotions of others....Alls we can do is try and be-friend others and show kindness and respect; but if they choose NOT to accept that friendship; it's their BIG loss...

I know, I may sound like a Pollyanna; but trust me, more often than not, if you are more positive than negative, people will pick up on that attitude and rally with you vs being the old scrooge who only says Humbug!

Now it's time folks that we all gather round the camp-fire and sing the old Camp Song of Cumbayah!

Love youse guys........(*8*) (*8*)
