Finally got my new internet service up and running but for some reason i cant open hotmail, no problems with any other sites. I also got a popup for a suspicious adware thingy and as i have a mac and this hasnt happened before I thought this may have something to do with it.
Any thoughts?

sorry. i use hotmail, but i don't have a mac. i tried to google for something, but i didn't come up with much. most of what i found was talking about using the mac email thing to get to hotmail (not using the browser).
 
Keep trying. Hotmail is up and down more often than a whores drawers on a Saturday night. I tried to send an email from my hotmail to another hotmail account this morning and I got some cryptic message. I tried and hour ago and it worked fine. Maybe they are using Windows servers.:p
I'm using a Mac.
 
I'm not sure how much help this will be, but have you tried different browsers? Safari, Firefox, Camino?

Other than that, the only suggestion I have is to get a Gmail or Yahoo7 account, as you can use Apple's Mail to access your emails. The HTTPMail plug-in for Hotmail doesn't work for me - probably because it hasn't been updated in a couple of years.
 
Not sure about using this on a Mac...

Gmail + Mozilla Thunderbird = The Best

Select Gmail NOT to delete from server that way you can clean-up Thunderbird on your computer yet keep emails on gmail's server
 
Could you give us some more information? Is it timing out? Are you getting an error message?

Hotmail is now Windows Live Mail so if you had a bookmark you might need redo it. Someone I know had a bookmark going straight into their Hotmail account, but it stopped working since the switch. All it took was visiting the website direct, logging in and re-bookmarking it.

Seems to be working now, but I was unable to enter hotmail even thru google results.
Have rebookmarked page as well, will see how it goes
