How Big Is Your Monitor?

19in

Samsung 19" 4:1 type, not the 16:9 type so it's much taller than those

I never saw much use for 16:9 (except newer video releases) for monitor, web pages are not in that aspect ratio and you scroll from top to bottom not left to right, so I need more top to bottom height not width

resolution is set at 1280 x 1024 pixels 32 bit
HD looks very good on it
I don't have any trouble reading text on it

17" wiiiiiiiiiidescreen on my laptop!

Resolution is 1366x768 - a nice widescreen movie size! :D

I'm rockin' twin 22"'s with a 21" CRT in the event I desperately need a third monitor.

Adorable :D I always love the apathetic look of these animals.

Ok guys, dumb question..Why do people have two monitors hooked up to the same computer? Can't you just open a new tab?

For me, it's a matter of spreading-out the clutter.

I have my own system to organise which monitor is used for what.

Yeah... until they eat you!

It has the most benefit for coders / designers / editors etc. It's handy when you're working on a project that has support apps or referential documents. You can have the project you're working on displayed on one monitor, with the tools and support apps / documents on the other. It saves having to constantly switch between applications; it's mostly for efficiency.

For general 'home use', as looseliam said, it has less practical use and it's mostly just to reduce the clutter. It makes basic things like following a tutorial, or drag/dropping files (if you don't have the 'snap' function) much easier.

Oh god, not another coc...

Never mind.

15.4", I think.

23.1" .........if you have your monitor right in front of you the pixel size on anything much larger gets REAL important REAL fast unless you don't mind a crappy display....... #-o

54" lcd. My pc is connected to my home entertainment system. I watch tv, movies, porn, surf the 'net, JUB, play games all on my hdtv.

same, i have a monitor in my bedroom but dont use it much anymore.

27"

But I also have my HD video card networked through my TV's A/V via HDMI, so at the touch of a button my 46" widescreen becomes my computer screen w/ full surround sound.

I keep a wireless mouse/keyboard beside my lay-z-boy.

Because that's how I roll. ..|

I have a 24" monitor that is just right. Any thing larger than that...I would have to move my head side to side to read a wide screen text. It's because my face is only 12" away from the monitor when I'm reading and typing.

I stream movies to my 46" HD TV though...as I watch it on my comfy sofa.

27" main and 15" for all the icons and email.

Once I buy a new LCD TV, I'm moving my computer to it.
Looking at a 46" to 52" Samsung LED backlit set....

My current set is a 42" plasma, but it's a 720p. Not good for computer use. Time for a 1080p!

I have two 24" monitors. I use dual monitors at work and it became a hassle going back to one at home. The thing you need to pay attention to in monitors is max resolution and pixels per inch. Unless you spend a lot of money, going over 24ish" won't get you a higher resolution so you actually end up with a lower picture quality. Try comparing your computer hooked up to your tv to a 24" monitor and you'll see why smaller sometimes is better.

Yeah, I've got a nice 22" in my bedroom that is just collecting dust. When I first hooked my pc up to my hdtv center a couple years ago, I never went back.
