How big is your home?
I am in a manufactured home and it's about 780 sq. ft.

My apartment is pretty big. I have no idea what the square footage is and running a tape measure from wall to wall is futile because I have a cat.

I have two bedrooms (one with three windows) and a southwestern exposure so not only do I get sun all day, but I can see the sunset and the sunrise, although much of the sunrise view has been blocked by a huge office building that was put up ten years ago.

Also a big eat-in kitchen which I never eat in, a strange hallway closet with a secret compartment and, sadly, the world's smallest bathroom.

The apartment is 1150 sq. ft. in a 6 story building.
It is fairly large for 1 person. It has 2 bedrooms and 1 bath.
The living room is 17 by 23 feet, the kitchen is 20 by 8 feet.

I live in a house somewhere between 1400 and 1500 square feet. It has 3 bedrooms and 1 1/2 baths, but I share it with two other people so it isn't too big per person.

Manfactured house, 1176 square with full, unfinished basement.

Anyone who would poo-poo manufactured houses is full of shit.
Manufactured houses are built like tanks so they can survive the ride to the site.
My house has cross braces between EVERY floor joist.

My house was built in 1986. It is not modern or up to date.

Upstairs, the main floor is approximately 2200 sq. ft.

Downstairs, it is about 1100 sq. ft. of a finished basement, heated and cooled, but paneling on cinderblock foundations on slab. It is a walk-out basement (so only partially below grade) through a 520 sq. ft. 2-car garage.

It sits on two acres.

Built 2018, 2100 sq ft on the main level and 1400 finished downstairs, 2 car attached garage. Yes we're spoiled and proud of it. 65 X 150 foot town lot.

built in 2007, 2,299 square feet, three bedroom, 2 bath home with outdoor entertainment area & storage shed.

House was built in 1931, not architectural distinguished but enormously charming. About 3,000 s.f. for the main house which is two stories plus a 60 s.f. basement; about 500 s.f. for the guest house which includes a living room with a fireplace, kitchen, bedroom and bath; and an additional 350 s.f. for the garage. The lot--which is somewhat wooded (the primary reason we bought the property) --is about 1/4 acre. The house is removed from the street up a gently sloping hill, and from our library we have views of skyscrapers in the distance beyond the treetops. As our house, guest house and backyard are set at the top of the hill, and our neighbors' houses on three sides are at the bottom, we have the sense of a much larger property than is actually ours.

The house and its setting bring great pleasure to us--and our neighbors. Many times, I've been at the street and passersby will stop and remark that our house and its setting are their favorite in the neighborhood.

I just bought a 1 bedroom condo last year, it is just under 600 Sq feet but I have my private terrace that is about 15 x 20.

Can someone explain to me like I'm slow what a manufactured house is? Maybe I'm underthinking it but er em uh aren't they all?

Manufactured home is the term used for what used to be called a mobile home or house trailer. They are built or manufactured on an assembly line and have a frame with leaf springs and tires. They are transported to the site where they will be used and the tired are removed after the home is placed on concrete blocks, leveled and secured with hurricane or high wind resistant straps. Many people confuse manufactured homes with modular homes which are delivered in sections via a flat bed truck in section and are assembled on site either placed on a foundation or on a foundation with a basement. Traditional homes are site built from materials delivered to the site.

My house is 1872 sq.ft. plus a 2 1/2 car attached garage. It was originally 4 bedrooms and 2 baths with an additional family room in the lower level. But a wall has been taken out of the 2 upstairs bedrooms to make it a larger bedroom. I used to like my big yard but not so much anymore due to the upkeep. I do live on the edge of town so that I don't have any neighbors on 2 sides.

I am ready to downsize into a single level home or apartment. Basement storage would be fine but I would want the washer / dryer to be on the main level. I can do stairs just fine now but I see my Dad (who is in his 90's) almost unable to do stairs. So I want to be ready for when that happens to me if I live long enough.
