mp4 will do, but there needs to be a specific encoding so that it is compatible with iTunes. i believe SUPER and other converters have settings for that. otherwise google is of help.

do not install the realplayer.

iTunes can play more video types than iPod/iPhone can. iPod/iPhone video can be tagged mp4, m4v or mov, but it must be h.264 compliant within a range of specs.

Handbrake is a free application that encodes video and includes specific presets for iPod/iPhone use.

Just what I was going to say! A lot of people think it's just for ripping DVDs but it converts videos files too. :D

Search for Freemake. Their programs are free, and they have a downloader and converter you can use with YouTube and many other video sites. You just have to download and install first.

Does it appear the files are being synced and copied over or are you getting errors during the syncing that say they cannot be copied?

Curious... what generation iPod Touch do you have? (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th)

Have you tried creating a playlist and using that option (below the area where your movies are listed to check)?

Have you tried opening and saving them out using QuickTime? In the save dialog there should be an option to choose the format... I'm a Mac person, so I don't know if QuickTime offers that option in Windows, but it's worth a try. If it works, it should definitely be compatible with your iPod.

when using super, did you load an ipod profile?

ok that is weird then. i have successfully used this on an iPod nano

That's really weird that you can only upload them into the photos app. Makes no sense to me, but if it works, it works, eh?

I was lying in bed and thought I should upload photos and music to see if those files get synced.

I was about to do that THEN, I noticed under the photo tab, that 'include videos' was not checked. So I checked the box

But it still wasnt quite done. I had put some videos in a sub folder on 'My Pictures', called 'upload'

I synced and the videos in the upload folder were now on Ipod Touch.

So I guess Im going to put the videos in that folder and it will sync with Touch.

Hooray, now I can put porn on my Ipod Touch. Let's not fool ourselves. Isnt that why most videos are added to Ipod? ;-)

I'll try and see what happens he he

That is probably the most common mistake that people forget to check when they show the movies tab.

I use Any Video Converter. It's a free program that I think works great. The conversion process takes a while, but the video is crystal clear on my ipod.
