I don't back up as much as I should, if my computer were to stop working I would be stuffed for my website work. But I have a Hard Drive on my main tower that is 1tb and has nearly everything I have on it and is easy accessible. :)

I use SyncToy which is a free piece of software from Microsoft to back up my media and schoolwork to an external drive. It's lightweight, simple and does the trick wonderfully :-)

^ That. Every now and then I hook up my external hard drive and use Synctoy to back up folders with important files, as well as music and movies.

I also use Dropbox, but only for teaching materials and some other documents. Nothing too sensitive.

I trust nothing but tape.

HDs can develop bad sectors over the years, and I would trust nothing of importance to optical media.

I have tapes 10+ years-old that I can still read. I have hard drives from the same time period that are heavily degraded. I have a CD-R from a couple years ago that is unreadable.

So, yeah. Invest in tape.
