how do you tell if a straight guy bi or not....?

Re: how do you tell if a straight guy bi or not...

There's your problem right there. What's the chance that the one gay guy you've met (or at least openly knew was gay because I'm sure you've met many more gay guys) is going to be perfect for you? At this point in my life, I've met thousands of gay men yet I still only have a few close friends and no serious boyfriend. You need to widen your social net to include more gay and gay-friendly (the latter tend to have other gay friends you can get to know) people or you'll always be falling for straight guys and wondering if they're gay.

thanks for your advice....i agree i need to get out there more and meet more gay friends but i just don't know where lol...it's the problem my best friend and i both have.

Well, I don't know where you're located so it's hard to give specific advice. However, if you have them around where you live, gay social groups are a good starting place. These often come in the form of amateur sports groups (running, swimming, softball are common), choral groups (often called gay mens' choruses) or other activity groups (cars, motorcycles--pretty much anything straight people get together for to meet other people). If you don't have any of those around or if none of them are something you're interested in (note: you don't have to be all that interested to attend their public social events), volunteering at a gay-affiliated organization such as an LGBT community center or HIV/AIDS organization (these are pretty much everywhere) also works. Beyond that, there's getting more involved in the art scene. Attending art shows, taking an art class at a community center or community college or getting involved in community theater are all good ways to meet other gay or gay friendly people. If you're religious at all, joining a gay friendly church can help you meet people too. I even have a friend who does this who's an atheist because he feels like the guys he meets there are more datable.

For the truly adventurous, you could always start your own group too. It may take some time, but there are bound to be other gay folks out there with whatever interest you might have.
