I've been tested twice this year. I always use protection and haven't had sex in 6 months. Visit the doctor for routine check ups every 3-5 months because I'm a hypochondriac. All clear.

up until a couple of weeks ago there wasn't a reason, but in the heat of the moment I did bb and not that I think there is any thing to worry about since I know the guy .I will feel much better to get tested and be safe rather than sorry

I've never been tested. Only been with 1 girl & 2 guys. The girl & 1 guy were oral only, and the other guy was a long-term boyfriend. I was unsafe with the boyfriend, but he was tested & came out clean before we were unsafe.

Been thinking about getting tested since we broke up. Anyone have any advice about where to go to get tested? Should I just go to a free HIV testing center? Or should I just go to a regular clinic and get a full STD test? Is that expensive? Or will I just have to do the regular co-pay through my insurance?

Never have. Too scared and ashamed, and I don't have a support group to help me. I cannot take the fact I might have HIV seriously, or I begin to lose my mind and life becomes a nightmare until I forget about it again. I like to live in a veil of ignorance when it comes to this disease.

I can't have HIV, I am almost certain I would end it if I found out I did, every aspect of my current life would be over, and I don't have the energy to do damage control. Clinics around here also make it very hard to get tested. There is really no reason for testing yourself: You should always be safe, anyway. If you are already safe, knowing is worthless. The only thing it is good for is starting a losing war. If I knew, there wouldn't be a real point to life.

I have been sexually active, and as safe as I could be. If I get knocked up, I'll just take it as my lot in life and become a statistic. Someone has to draw the unlucky card.

I'm a bit troubled by some of the responses here but overall I'm glad to see so many people taking their health seriously.

That's not the first time I've heard of such a thing, it really disturbs me that these "professionals" can be so careless when handling something as serious as an HIV patient, a human being's life/health. What are we paying them for?

Me, the last time was 3 months ago. I try and get tested every 3-4 months.
