When I first opened my firm, emails were unknown (clay tablets and cuneiform only).
Today, I had over one hundred emails either to my attention or where I was copied (since I require that every email be copied to me as well as the staff person receiving it, so that I have a clear picture of what is happening on every project.
I deal with these on a running basis through the day when I am able and check all before the next biz day begins. This is one of the reasons I spend the end of the afternoon with a fine red wine.
No one warned me. No one gave me the slightest hint when I graduated that my career would end with me working at a rapid fire pace addressing shit on the fly all day long.
Or that what I thought I would do is not what you do when you end up as the tete fromage in your own little pond.
Anyone else feeling this way?
