I live in a 40 year old neighborhood. Hardly any kids around. I had one group of 5 kids (with their grandparents) and that was it. Now, what to do with all this candy!#-o

I think my downstairs neighbors had quite a few. I was out trick-or-treating with my daughter... she made a haul.

Don't know the number of kids but I gave out over 8 lbs. of candy.
I love to see the cute kids in their costumes. 95% of them said thank you too.
:D :D :D

I gave out candy to at least 100 kids. Every year I go to my ex's house. We decorate by turning the front yard into a graveyard, the ex did it this year, she did a good job. This year was my year to stay and give out the candy, and she went out with the kids.

The litle kids are so cute, they love the decorations. It always amazed me how on my old street how many people do not give out candy.

We have no neighbors, so none. We used to live in an area where we would easily get 300 kids...it was lots of fun.

Our children went trick or treating with their friends in their neighborhoods, tonight. It was only 25 degrees, so they came back cold and ready for hot chocolate.

Not a single one. This town celebrates Halloween on the Thursday before the 31st so that kids have school the next day and can't stay out late. Lame.

None. It's called taking your mother out to eat and to a movie so you don't have to bother with it lol.

It was dead frustrating because I was making supper at the time, 6.30. I even switched off the light in the hall way, and they rung nevertheless.... Anyhoo, I did have candy ready, but as soon as one lot went away and I got the heat in the kitchen back up, DING DONG, and turn the heat off again and trot down to the front again....

In all the doorbell rung six or seven time, and about 10 kids came along, all suitably dressed in their halloween attire.

Its so long that I've handed sweets to kids before that I forgot they had small hands. They kept dropping them, lol.

Anyway, I yelled to one parent "I'd wish they all come in one go, as I'm rather busy in the kitchen..."

i was at work... but my mom said there were maybe 50 kids all night...

she heard screaming children though.. and later heard cop cars...

it turns out that the main residential street near me had a couple houses where people were terrifying little children... hiding.. popping out and scaring them... dressed as monsters and what not... they were scaring little kids.. like 5 year olds... and making them cry.. it was so bad that parents were just taking kids home and from what i hear they refused to even take candy from the people who did it... like these parents were even asking my mom from the bottom of the driveway if we had anything that was gonna jump out at the kids (we really deck out our house to look scary/cool) she had to assure them that nothing was gonna jump out to scare the kids before the parents let them come up

halloween should be scary for kids.. not terrifying... the kids should be on edge.. maybe jump.. but should laugh.. not cry... its sad to think some morons ruined the night for a lot of little kids just to scare them...

I really lost count after 30. It always amazes me that people come trick or treating from all over, not just my town. I live in rural Connecticut, and we get people from 20 miles away. These parents just load up the Range Rover (barf) with as many kids as possible and stock up on candy until next year.
Some of costumes were really hysterical, and since it was warmer than usual, skimpier outfits were popular with the women. A woman dressed as Bree from Desperate Housewives showed up with two girls and a boy. One of the daughters was maybe 10-12 and was dressed as Paris Hilton in one of her sluttiest outfits, i was in shock! One boy who must have been 13 showed up dressed in a fat suit with a black wig and fake mustache and when i asked who he was he said "Ron Jeremy"!!!! Where the fuck do kids learn this shit?
But the real kicker was a family of four showing up and the son, who was probably 14 or so, was dressed as Marilyn Monroe in that white dress from the Seven Year Itch. I mean full on drag to the max, his mother obviously helped him with it as she seemed quite thrilled. The father did'nt say a word. As soon as i closed the door i fell over laughing. At least this kid won't have to bother thinking of the best way to come out! Gotta give the kid credit for having guts to do that, but still it was beyond funny. Next year, i'm taking pictures at Halloween.
