I was noticing that I have three keys on my keyring and 10 of those plastic tags that you use to get discounts at the grocery store, Petsmart, the gym and the library, oh and that Speedpass to use at the Exxon at the pump.

How many do you have on your keyring?

Have any keys that you don't know what they belong to? I have one of those...

I have 3 keys plus my key fob to my car. Those grocery stores cards I keep in my wallet. I used to carry way too many keys. Cleaned out all the 'I don't knows' about 6 months ago.

I have Kroger, Petco and Petsmart. And yep, I find keys all the time that I have no frickin idea what they go to. But I'm afraid to throw them away because I'll one day need them. Which I doubt I ever will.

I'm obsessive about keeping my key-ring light... someone once told me you can pull the ignition out of your car with too-heavy a key-ring. So all I have is my car-key, my two housekeys, and the car-alarm remote... plus a rubber fob from the car-dealership which I only leave there because it's the only thing on the ring I can put in my mouth without breaking my teeth (I frequently put things in my mouth when I run out of hands, like key-rings or pens or pieces of paper). When I had more keys, such as my two office keys and a huge meeting-room key, I kept them on a separate ring.

At one time I also had a smiley-face ball, but it broke; and then I replaced it with a little compass, but it was never right; then I put a rabbit's foot on it, but it was a real taxidermied rabbit's foot and was too big to put in my pocket.

I never keep those cards on my key-ring, the friction wears the printing off them... I have a little pocket in my wallet for them instead.

I've heard that too, although I don't know how true it is. I mean, I've never known anybody to screw up their ignition with a heavy key ring.

I've also heard that it's not good to let your hand rest on the stickshift while driving (I like standards, my car is a 5-speed) because it's bad on the transmission.

Don't know how true that is, either.

I have some house keys and the door key for my car. Ignition key stays hidden in the car when not in use so I won't lose it :p

Only 5.
2 cars, 2 for the house, 1 for the garage.

They're hanging off a carabinier, if that makes it more interesting...

Interesting topic.

I don't think that I've ever actually examined my key chain until now.

:D

I have three rings. One of the rings came with my "digital clip" ignition key to my truck (it won't start without it).

The other ring is attached to a key chain/souvenir that a friend of mine brought back for me from his trip to Florida.

The third ring is what the first two rings are attached to.

(That ring use to be a "Sponge Bob Squarepants" key ring that my boyfriend at the time spent $2.50 in a gumball machine trying to get it for me. Wasn't that sweet? Anyway, after a couple of years Sponge Bob lost his arms and legs, and he just wasn't as fun to have around anymore.)

On the third ring I have my house key, a key to one of the outbuildings on my farm, and three keys that look like they go to a pad lock or something, but I have no idea where those locks are at. (As soon as I take them off, I'll remember and be up shit creek for not having them on my ring anymore. So they stay! ;) )

In addition to keys I have a CVS/pharmacy ExtraCare card, a Brookshire's THANK YOU for your loyalty card, Kroger Plus Shopper's Card, a Tom Thumb Reward card, and a PETsMART Pet Perks card. I just recently added a Triple A membership card, since I bought insurance through Triple A Texas.

So I now have more of those stupid ass cards on my key chain than I have keys.

Sorry, to bore, but thanks to those who read this far. (*8*)

I look like school janitor as opposed to a gay man. I have 21 keys for home and work. Usually they're on a pink carabiner hook on my azz. I carry a separate ring of 5 keys for my part time job as well. I keep the vehicle keys separate. No wonder my pants are always falling down.

When working about 20 as well as my van keys, I have to keep the ignition key on the ring so I don't leave site leaving all my alarm keys behind. At home I have none as the boat key gets hidden on the boat so friends can let themselves in and I don't have a car.

My car key in a separate ring and 7 other keys to my house in another ring. Do I really need to carry all of them, everyday?!

14 keys and a smart tag on three intertwined rings. Like a very poor Olympic flag impression, if you will.

Work keys (4 different doors and a cupboard + smart tag)
Car-related keys - ignition, gorilla crooklock thingy and garage padlock
House and security gate key
Karate club key
3 other padlock keys for locks which have long-since been lost. They help to confuse would-be key thieves since it just makes it trickier to unlock the padlock if there is more than 1 key, you see. Especially if the lock sticks.

They're all on one of thoes extendy phone-cable-looking things which used to be attached to a Footix standing on a Duracell - got it during World Cup France '98 and Duracell were sponsors. Footix was the dodgy cartoon chicken who served as a mascot.

Before Footix there was a Kenny and then a Cartman, both since departed.

Condo
Mailbox

and a loose single key for the car

I don't do the tag things from the stores. It big brother in action!

I have 10 keys on my ring and a carabiner, though I never hook it on my belt. I always store my keyring in a drawer in my mud room as soon as I walk into the back door. I only care one discount card for the grocery store in my wallet.
