I'm trying to burn TV episodes to DVD and I would like to know how to burn more the the standard amount of time on it. I know it can be done. Thanks!

You can probably compress the file and lose quality to fit more on the DVD.
Or you can get a dual layer DVD burner and buy some DL DVD media. They can run about 50 blank discs for $40 to $60 USD.

DVD recorders have option as to the length of play of the disk: High quality, standard, long play, extra long play. If I recall correctly extra long play gives 4 hours. It will depend on your software what options are available to you on your computer.

The DL (Dual Layer) disc lets me keep the quality when I wanna burn something longer and yes they are more expensive but I'm seeing them on sale a lot more too.

I am using memorex DVDs. What dvd burning software can I use to burn 4 hours of AVI files?

I use visualhub to burn my dvds on my mac. I am able to burn 18hrs to a standard dvd. It's no longer available but I could be pursaded to email you the disk image, just message me on skype, aim, or via email.
