Pay $112 to a computer tech to re-load windows vista, because some idiot tech guy at DELL told you download a new audio driver that caused all audio to disappear from your laptop.
Write Dell a letter telling them they owe you $112.
^You're right...I learned that the hard way.
Or just image your drive once in awhile, or roll back the driver in safe mode.
I tried to go back to a restore point. It would always stop and refuse to finish. After the 5rd try, it told me that there were no restore points. I guessing the Vista had more problems than just the audio. It also claimed it had never been to Window Update and never been updated, it had.
The tray icon said it wasn't connected to a wireless network even when it was. So, I think this thing had lots of problem. Good news is it's working fine for now.
I feel like most of problems were related to Vista, but I've seen other message boards where other people had problems with this same Dell, even when it didn't have Vista.
