I just scratched the glass of my monitor. Do you guys know any way I could get rid of them, or at least lessen them? It is pretty bad.

How? What did you do? What were you using?

Do you have a glass (old style cathode ray tube like a TV) or a plastic screen (LCD)?

I was trying the monitor on my friend´s computer and I dropped it, it did not break, but got some deep scratches. #-o
It is a LG (old style cathode ray tube like a TV).
I googled and some people say that toothpaste can be good, but only for superficial scratches.
:(

I'll echo noelie here, if it's really deep, you could have seriously damaged the integrity of the glass, and it seriously could implode. If it's just a "deep" superficial scratch, noelie gave some good advice. I would personally suggest the eye glasses scratch remover. It's a type of resin that fills in the crack and seals it clear.

Or you could just spend $100 on a new CRT ;).

They are deep superficial scratches, you know, not too deep, but can be annoying.
I will try and find a similar product here in Brazil.
Thanks again for the advice.

this is just an idea...but would the material they use to fill in chips and what not in car windshields work on a CRT monitor? or maybe that is only for chips...i don't know just throwing out an idea.

I really wouldn't feel happy using it anymore if I were you.

Sorry about your monitor hunky (*8*)

Remember to dispose of it greenly or as green as you can

Thanks Noelie, I will try and do it as soon as I get some extra money!

let us know if you try something. i'd really like to hear if anything worked. i'm the only one in my family with a LCD (everyone else has a CRT) so i think it would be good to know.

Man, I have been looking around for anything that might jelp, going to hardware stores, computer stores and nothing.
It sucks living in a third world country sometimes!
