hi guys, I guess I'm doing something terribly wrong. I'm working out about 7 months, I do say I improved my body but there is a problem that after some period it is so hard for me to gain further obvious improvment. Maybe that is because I'm 140pounds way to skinny to get more muscle for my body. I see some guys have awesome biceps that fill their tshirts, damn this is great but if I don't squeeze them or press my biceps to something it looks like I haven't stepped in to gym ever, however if I contract them I do have big guns! I really look like great for summer and I do only when I hold my breath and force my abs to create 6 packs! What is happening now, how can I acquire further improvement? cheers

Hi kolicik,

It doesn't necessarily mean you are doing something wrong.
Most people see big improvements in the first half year or so of working out on a regular basis. After that you just need to focus, and keep working out.
Gains will be harder to achieve as you work your way towards fulfilling the full potential of your body.

About the whole t-shirt thing, I really feel your pain. Don't we all want to look good in t-shirts? Many factors come into play here, body fat %age, body composition, height and obviously the size of the arms.
Remember that the biggest muscle on your arm is the tricep;)

What kind of exercise program are you on now, and what does your diet look like?

Some people have to work on being lazier. I mean a lot of times we're working the muscles TOO much. Be sure to get enough sleep.
Instead of weights, do swimming or light yoga some days.
Other days, instead of weights, do something different. I mean make something up or copy something you see on You Tube. (Being careful at first)
Other than that, consistency and intensity, blah-blah-blah. Just be careful you don't too much of the same stuff all the time.
Eat healthy and be sorta 'straight-edgy', too. No, not like a fanatic. Just OWN yourself.

The science behind P90X makes sound sense as well.

When you work a muscle all the time, it becomes too used to it and stops growing. You need to completely switch up what you do so your body does not acclimate to a "routine".

For example, when I swim all the time, I get lean and do put on some muscle. But it stops no matter how much more I swim. Only difference then is greater strength and endurance. No more bulk. Have to switch it up if I want more mass.

And then there's food and sleep.

Have you raised the pounds of the weights you lift and intensified your work outs? Once you've lifted the same amount again and again and are able to lift it easily, your body doesn't get much stronger if you don't raise the pounds a little.
