Seems as though maybe this wasn't answered fully? I am going to post my suggestions here as I see the OP is still active.. There is a few sure-fire methods. I am not a completely experienced bottom, however I extensively do my own research as my potential partner right now is a top.
- Watch your diet
The most important thing about this process is what you're eating. What you take in is what's at risk to take out. Some of the more power-bottom's I've met have actually maintained a very low diet for three days before sex. I have never tried this myself and frankly never will, as I do not think it's necessary or healthy, and I'll be damned if I make something as great as sex that much of a project. Watch out eating things like fruit, things that just don't digest well. Keep it to complex carbs, things like brown rice that absorb quickly, therefore you're internally healthier, cleared, and properly fed. You'll also need to avoid any gassy foods, obviously. This will require research of your own. Only you know your body.
Even if you decide not to go the three day route, I have always stuck to the three hour route. I have used this method before and I have not had an issue, ever. This idea still plays on my fears as well, but you just have to ensure you are taking your time with this, which is what brings me to my next point.
- Take your time
Now that you've been food-free for three hours, it's time to get to cleaning. Start slow, take your time. My favourite position is all fours, bent forward slightly. Insert, and as silly as this sounds, go crazy. Do jumping jacks, do a few hops, as it was said before: just let it sit for about a minute. After a while, you'll start to feel some pressure on your hole. At that point, release.
You'll want to repeat this process three times or until the water runs clear. After you're done that, take a hot shower and rinse off well.
As for the other inquiry about ass shaving - fuck, yeah that's a project. I've always found it helpful to buy a small mirror, stand it up against a wall and lay on your back, ass toward the mirror, and just watch yourself. The most important thing here is DO NOT USE AFTER SHAVE. I do not know anyone else's experience, but man does that burn. Make sure you pick up a bottle of lotion, scent-free with Aloe. After you've shaved and showered, lotion your ass. You want this to absorb, so let it be reasonable. Any excess, or if your ass feels wet from the lotion, put your underwear on and let that sit. Your skin will absorb. Try to just be in your underwear for a while to give it some breathing room too, last thing you want is irritated skin in a confined setting with no oxygen to heal.
I know the Aloe trick works and it'll work very quickly. A few weeks ago, my partner had flown in and I had actually given myself such bad razor burn and was so embarrassed. Picked up a bottle of Glysomed (green bottle, aloe, unscented, purchased at Safeway - Canadian) and it was completely cleared after three applications. Wait about an hour between applications so you don't overdo it.
