This is just a starter thread post here. I have been thinking about this a lot.

Why is the world going to want to come to the US next year or 2028?

Why would Canada and Mexico want to co-host the World Cup with the US next year?

The dangers of travel to US cities is too great now for visitors from pretty much any country now.

Certainly, the soccer loving members in our family here and abroad are dropping any plans to attend
games in the US. More to come on this I am sure, as FIFA starts to realize that they have a potential
disaster on their hands now.

I wouldn't want to visit any country whilst it was hosting anything like the World Cup or the Olympics. I declined a trip to Germany last summer because it clashed with the European Football Championship. That said, I doubt I'll be crossing the pond any time soon, Olympics or not.

It's a way off, but you shouldn't be afraid of the upcoming Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City in 2034. Salt Lake hosted the 2002 Winter Olympics and EVERYBODY loved it...which is why they bid on and were approved fir 2034. 2002's games were profitable! The facilities and infrastructure are first-rate. And Salt Lake City is a delightful community; the city is also LGBT-friendly. I was there last fall, and will gladly go back.

J D Vance joking about deporting the fans coming to the World Cup games seems like a really weird way to attract people to the events.

If the goal is to affect policy, this will not work. Toad does not care who goes bankrupt, nor do his cronies. They don't care about us any more than they care about you.

If a boycott of the World Cup is about them, great, but it won't put any pressure on the U.S. Government. If your countries want to use travel as a lever, ban the US from going THERE. That would put pressure on the government.

Another writer on the subject of pushing to have the Olympics relocated from LA to another country.

The potential problems are clear.

Foreign athletes won't be safe. Visitors won't be safe travelling into and out of the US. Because it is just going to get worse over the next 3 years.

Hitler...I mean Trump... sees the Olympics as a celebration of him. And white power. White male power.

And maybe there is a strategy. Have enough countries not bother to send their athletes and the US can make a clean sweep of the games.

Regardless of the eventual location for 2028, the IOC could honor the newly-coined term for Trump’s trade policies and approach to negotiating, by reaching out to Taco Bell to become a major sponsor.

FIFA...an organization not worthy of respect or admiration has only itself to blame.

Obviously...they are counting on pocketing US corporate advertising and couldn't care less about ticket sales or crowds...all they have to do is shoot tight camera angles.

So more buzz on social media today that FIFA is considering moving the games to Canada because of the problematic immigration policies that would not only affect fans form other countries but also a number of the teams.

I am reminded of the axiom, "Everything Trump touches, dies".

The US has lost another sports event as the World Archery championships choose a more suitable location.

Russia released video of themselves targeting and murdering Danish humanitarian volunteers working to remove unexploded ordnances from Ukraine.

A few hours later Trump invited Putin to the FIFA world cup because “he’s been very respectful of me and of our country…”

In related news, Trump roundly booed at the US Open today in NY, and noteworthy, the USTA asked broadcasters not to air the booing:

He was a guest in the private booth of one of the sponsors. Could that be Emirates?

Less than a minute into the forst volley.

^ Trump's grand-daughter definitely wasn't thrilled to be attending....Is supect that she believes the victims and not her
disgusting, smelly, rotting pedophile grandfather.
