I started a website, here http://www.canadianpoliticsrpg.com/ some political role-play

What I need help with is aligning the ad that you see on the left. I want it totally on the bottom. I tried <div align=bottom but that doesn't move it anywhere.

if any of you know html, help would be so appreciated.

And let me know if its clickable..for me, I don't get a mouse over the ad.

hm I wanted to check it out, but it seems some dns is not working. My dns is reachable but doesn't have that entry cached, and where ever he tries to get it, a timeout happens.

hmm..strange..seems to be working fine.

btw the style type for the ad is text/javascript

so maybe it has to be centered using that? if so, help would be appreciated

hard to tell anything without seeing the source code. but i guess you are kinda expecting something wrong from html here. align=bottom does not mean at the bottom of the screen. it means at the bottom of the element where it is positioned in.

Here it is. I have taken out the data for the ad but everything else is as is. So where it says <script type="text/javascript"><!-- That is the start of the ad.

Have you always dreamed of a political game where you could
start from vying for the Leadership, to campaigning, to the
General Election, and then Governance?

Do you get excited about the thought of your every action
having some result?

Do you look forward to Election Night because you love seeing
the results slowly coming-in?

Do you want to earn money just by playing?

Do you like the idea of having online relationships and competing against real people, instead of just playing the computer?

That's some ugly code.

Is it the AdWords you are trying to position? There's a random script tag just above where all the [yuck] tables begin.

Considering just about all the other elements are absolutely positioned, why don't you do the same for the AdWords? I wouldn't do it that way myself, but then again I wouldn't write code that ugly. BlueVoda has a lot to answer for.

If your website is down and you're using tables for layout, you should question yourself if being responsible for an RPG where people can earn money is right for you...

apparently bluevoda is a drag and drop html editor :D
http://www.bluevoda.com/ after seeing this code it doesn't surprise me.

concerning your question - kins has nailed it already.

Worry about yourself. You don't know anything about me.

I don't have experience making websites but I do in a lot of other areas. But there are a ton of people that are in the same boat and make decent websites.

That's all I'm aiming for in terms of look.

The best way to learn is to practice. Try things out etc. It helps greatly if you have a base of knowledge to draw from. I was recommended http://www.w3schools.com/ who give some great information and tutorials on how it all works. Web Developer Toolbar for Firefox is a great resource too. If you try some of these and then look at the code that your voda thingy generated, you will realise why the seemingly harsh comments.

I see what you guys mean. I should have just used an html template..something simple but it would look quiet decent. Instead, this looks like "blocks", since its different tables.

I appreciate the feedback.

What will you do if someone complains there's an error on website, that the login, payout, whatever doesn't work?
