This is a little cautionary morality tale.
I was acquainted with Peter Grant and his family all those years ago and my work brought me into an overlap with his sphere of influence. Unlike his private Frog's Breath golf course, this project smacked of a cocaine fueled fever dream during the entire time I watched it go from shovels in the ground to the last silent days as it fell into stillness.
I was never very impressed. I admired his sister and the role his family played in the fortunes of Northern Ontario...but we never really connected because I found him and his idea of himself puffed up and false...even having to stand up to him on a couple of occasions. I assume he's dead by now.
I love that this captures the emptiness of the intent and the 'design'. This is when jumped up arrivistes start to think they are Hearst.

I am not sure if anyone here knows that Haileybury was the home of the writer of the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew mystery books.
This would have been right up his alley.
