Last night I saw printed text in my dream, plain as day. Isn't that supposed to be impossible? 
Anywho I stopped having nightmares around the time I started lucid dreaming, I even remember the transition. The two most recurring nightmares I had were falling from a great height or facing some kind of evil person/monster and my voice not working when i call for help.
in my final series of nightmares I distinctly remember a sense of control and awareness, I knew I was having a nightmare and in the very last few could actually wake myself up before "shit hit the fan." Waking from a nightmare actually felt like I ("aware" me) put dream me in the heimlich position and was pulling me up. For a while I missed having nightmares just cuz that wake-up ride was kinda phuckin dope, you ever rescued yoursellf? Totally ethereal experience.
Anway that years ago and I haven't had nightmares since, although I've also lost abstract, symbolic dreams in the process, now I mostly dream about doing stuff I do in real life-- hanging out with friends, eating, smoking weed, and a couple of celebrity meets.
