So, I’ve only had one cavity in my life. It was a small one on the outer surface, they filled it and nothing to it. At my dentist visit last week they found a cavity deep in the tooth on X-ray, needs a crown. Today I went in to get it taken care of. Now I’ve always thought that people complaining about dentists were pussies. What’s the big deal? The numbness goes away and there’s no pain at all.

Well, Jesus H Christ! I feel like I took a punch from Mike Tyson and the Novocain hasn’t even worn off yet. WTF! Are you kidding me? Y’all have been dealing with this for years, even when you were kids!

going to the dentist is for suckers, i'll go if my teeth start falling out. otherwise i don't need that negativity in my life :gogirl: #ignoranceisbliss

I did not know until I was 48 that total numbness could be achieved Novocain. Thr shot given the usual way for the lower jaw was only minimay effective on me. The first dentist to ever check was only still a student.

When I was 14 I had a root canal before getting my second crown. My dentist didn’t perform the root canal the way he was taught in dental school because he left a small part of the nerve exposed and once the Novocain and the gas wore off the pain was excruciating. I couldn’t breathe thru my mouth at all and even thru my nose hurt, the air was too much. I had to get thru he night and the dentist did get me 2 kinds of painkillers and I took enough to be completely numb except for that throbbing nerve.

Still the worst pain I ever experienced.

For some reason after reading this I am so filled with jealous rage.

Your are lucky that you could get a dentist. British dental care has fallen apart in most cities, dentists are not taking on new NHS patients so do it yourself is the new
way to go.
Desparate times, desperate measures.

I had a sesame seeds under my dentures that was murder.

I am amazed that you have had only 2 cavities in your entire life. I wish that I could of said the same. I may be one of the few, that never really experienced pain after the numbness wore off after having fillings done . I had to have 2 teeth extracted that broke 3 weeks ago and couldn't be repaired and had no pain after the numbness wore off. It was the first time having a tooth extracted. The pain now is going to look at the price of implants.

I’ll be back at the dentist in the morning. The temp crown already fell off. I haven’t even ate or brushed yet.

I had that happen once, readjustments were made with the amount of whatever they use to hold it in place.

I guess that I have been lucky. I don't remember much pain after the Novocain. It has been awhile since I have had a cavity. I did have a temporary crown fall off once or twice before.
