Sometimes the truth has to kick us in the ass it seems. I had decided to remove 2 rather large evergreen bushes from in front of my home, they were about 7 feet tall. I lay on the ground and ran a cable around the first one so I could pull it out with my truck.
After putting the cable around this bush I found that going from prone to upright was a hell of a challenge. I finally did manage but it was a real battle! Anyway, the bushes are out and cut up and waiting at the curb to be removed.
Does anyone else wonder when they will have to hang it up and become "elderly"? BTW in about a week I will be 72.

I daren't get down on my knees these days. I couldn't get back up unaided. Fortunately I have a special stool that allows me to get up
shopping.webp

I noticed a lot of changes after about 65. Things I used to do effortlessly, now I have to take my time and take breaks. I need help lifting heavy objects that I could have lifted by myself before. Despite this, I stay active, and am in better condition than most other 70s guys.

If I removed my bush I wouldn't be able to get it up either.

Although I don't have the best balance walking, I still do okay, however, if I stoop I have a lot more trouble with balance or trying to get back up. I did stoop to tie my shoe in a store and fell over. I had to roll over to get up and someone came over and asked me if I needed help. I can no longer get up off of the floor from a sitting position. I have to roll over to all fours in order to stand. I don't remember at what age this started but it has been some time now and I am 79 years old.

I am only 42, but I try to avoid getting low. Bending over or picking myself up of the ground is not always easy for me. I don't have much if any feeling most of the time below my waist and lowering my head makes my BP rise or drop fast. I should be dead in a couple years, but if I do make it to 50 I doubt I would be able to get up on my own. I probably would need the fire dept. like my mother and grandmother.
