Well, this past weekend I told three of my closest friends that I'm gay. Two of them said they already knew and weren't surprised in the least, but my other friend was pretty floored. So for the past couple of days now, I've been able to be completely open and honest with my friends for the first time in my life, and it feels better than I ever thought it would.

Well, I just wanted to share that story because of how happy this has all made me. I also want to thank everybody here for all the support and advice they have given me and rest of the community.

Next step, my parents. Wish me luck.

Sounds like your friends already knew about the guy you really were... and I'm sure your parents will feel exactly the same way!!!!!
 
Thanks, everybody! I'll probably make a new thread about what happens with my parents, since it probably won't be for about another month or so (when I move out). My dad is going to flip out, though. He's one of the most homophobic men I've ever met in my life. Just earlier today he was lecturing me on the "fag agenda" in shows like Project Runway. Sigh... Well, I really appreciate the support. Thanks again.
