Just thought some of you might like to hear this. I've been agonizing for a while now over whether I should tell my best friend (straight, getting married) I'm gay. I've lost friends over it before. Finally tonight I couldn't handle it anymore and texted him along with some other things. Here's his response:

"I don't care you're gay and I honestly don't think that makes any difference, but thank you for letting me know."

I was worried about nothing. And I feel so much better now.:##::D

That is fantastic. It happened to me so many times, that eventually I realized that it really does not matter to a lot of people. Furthermore, if one is a good person and a good friend the fact that one is gay is not a big issue!

Great story; gives others hope that they can come out to straight friends (especially guys) that are supportive. Honestly, you usually know who is going to be fine with it.

This is wonderful news! You have a true friend!

I gotta say, even though we've only known eachother about a year he's probably the best friend I've ever had. And I know he's telling the truth because in the same breath he invited me out for a beer.

...and now I don't have to feel so weird when he's telling me shit about his girlfriend and I'm just trying to look the other way...
