read all the seven stories, how normal is to think that C.S. was racist, anti-feminist and anti-islamic? maybe I am a little harsh, but I feel a little like that =p

AND THEY ARE ALL DEAD!!! C'mon! that was lame! "you all died" \o/\o/\o/

Also does anyone have read the Neil Gailman novel about Susan? hows is the story?

yeah i think they are pretty much all dead. it was the end of the world. if i recall correctly. it's been a while since i read "the last battle." i don't think i ever got racist or the other stuff out of it. i did always feel it was very christian oriented. this is supported since the audio CDs here in the US are produced by "focus on the family" which is a conservative christian group. ;)

didn't know there was a novel about susan. i'll have to check that out.

I've not read them. Stupid question, in what order are they to be read? Which one is first, second, etc.....?

1. The Magicians Nephew
2. The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe
3. The Horse and His Boy
4. Prince Caspian
5. The Voyage of the Dawn Treader
6. The Silver Chair
7. The Last Battle

Well, everyone in Narnia died as did the Pevensy children and Polly and Andrew, but it wasn't the end of the world as we know it.

Just everyone associated with Narnia died...except for Susan.

Poor Susan. I always found the 'faith' demand so rediculous. How could Aslan (God/Jesus) excpect his people to have such blind faith when there are just as many viable sources demanding the same blind faith. It's only natural that Susan would grow up and have to stop believing some things if she was ever going to function in society. I don't listen and believe crazy people yellingt in the street when I first hear what they have to say, so why would Aslan punish someone for being rational in a world of irrationalities?

Yes, if any of the previous ones weren't apparently evangelical and racist enough, The Last Battle certainly puts the last nail in the coffin.

Still, a pretty darn good series.

/\ that's the way they break out in the timeline, but if i recall correctly the Lion, the witch, and the wardrobe was first. ;)

Yep. It was written first, but in the chronology of the series it's second.

Lewis was a christian fundamentalist, and the villains are clearly arabesque in their appearance.

the funny thing is that after Lewis' wife died, he became an atheist... so you cant hate him that much!

I'm pelased ot see that Neil Gaiman wrote an epilogue. It's important and no one else but him would be acceptable.
