So, last week I decided to upgrade my phone, and jumped for the iPhone - It's amazing! I thought I was addicted to my iPod touch, but I'm on a whole new level now, haha!

And yesterday I went to the Apple Store and got a GREAT deal on a new iMac G5: 20" screen, 250GB HD, 2.1GHz, and 1.5GB RAM. Which is absolutely fine for me! ..|

Fear not, Windows lovers; I'm still using my Windows computer, and will continue to for a few particular things.. but yeah, there appears to be quite a bit of Apple in the room, lol!

:D

Congrats on the iPhone. Too bad you din't wait on the iMac, new models coming very very soon.

Great investment. You won't regret it. I switched 4 years ago and never went back to windows. I joined the cult, and now you are part of it too. lol

now you are locked in.
I've had a PowerBook G4 for years, and I'm still using the Windows computer as well.. ;)

It's all good man - I ain't made of money, ha!
Congradulations, I bought an apple computer in February and love it, even though I still don't know all about it. This is what I have..... mine came with 2 GB of memory but I add 2 more making it a total of 4GB memory.....It feels good not having to buy all that antivirus protection and stuff. I thing you'll love it once you get to using it... Have fun
Neat! Nice specs; however you might want to delete your serial number from your post! :p

I'm still am, and still plan to use both Windows and Apple. :-)

Just a point of order: if it's a NEW iMac, it isn't a G5!

Well it's new to me, and it was fresh from the shop, jeez..
Don't forget some of the great free stuff for your new Mac:

Perian - lots of useful video codecs in one pack
Flip4Mac - Windows media compatibility

plus take a look here for lots of other suggestions.
Yeah, I have Perian and Flip4Mac already; I'm not a new Mac user, as I mentioned above :-) I've got an Apple laptop :-)

Here's a quick video I made on the iPhone last week (and held the wrong way, haha) !oops!

^ It's just that Apple haven't made a G5-based computer in over 3 years - you don't want to undersell your new purchase. :-)

Welcome to the Cult of Mac!

I have a MacBook Pro, iPhone, Apple TV and Time Capsule.

I originally regretted the Apple TV until one of the sales guys told me about installing Boxee on it. Now I watch Hulu on my big screen instead of the laptop.

And don't forget for Windows users, you can run Windows on the Mac (I'm a purist and would never do that) and from what I heard, it runs pretty seamlessly.

Plus the new version of Mac OS X, Snow Leopard, can't be installed on a non-Intel Mac, meaning the OP is stuck with the old version of OS X :(

Ah, my apologies, I assumed Just: Mills purchased a NEW iMac and that he'd mistakenly added the "G5" to his description, but looking at the specs, he HAS bought a G5 iMac. My bad.

Nothing at all wrong with that, of course, so long as you got a great deal (which you say you did). For most purposes the machine still has plenty of grunt, and will run Leopard for years to come! :-)

I agree, the iMac G5 is a great looking machine (honestly, my favourite Mac design aside from the aluminum iMac that replaced it), plus I think the latest version of Leopard is a very stable, reliable and solid OS - there shouldn't be any problems with those specs at all :D

I'd just like to mention, for any in doubt purchasing the 3Gs.. Don't listen to the rumours about it having a low battery life, and constantly crashing (bugs).

My battery lasts over a day (without charge) which is just like any other phone I've ever had, and the only way it's going to crash (which mine hasn't) is if there's a bug in an app that you download..

:-)
