I fell for the same gas station car wax scam. Very cute guy. Great pitch. I was so impressed with the pitch and wanted to help him enough that I guess I momentarily forgot that I'm the last guy to wax his car! (Or was it that I knew I'd never use the stuff but I admired his enthusiasm so much that it didn't matter?) A week later my partner, who didn't know anything of my purchase, came back from the same gas station telling me the story of the stupid guy he saw buying a "miracle" car wax from a really cute young dude. Said the dude looked at him (my partner) and didn't even attempt a sale as he knew from my partner's demeanor he would not be an easy mark. How true! If the cute guy had approached my partner, he would have made his pitch, my partner would have asked him a thousand questions (he's big on extended conversations with cute guys) and then saying, "No thanks." He would have totally wasted the dude's time.
