Bears I got the bear tattoo

Nice, I agree that it is unique and you don't see many guys with tattoos like that.

Wow! Great to see the finished product! Looks exactly like what you wanted from your earlier post. Love tattoos and think they look so hot on sexy bears like you. I def don't have the guts to get one myself. Lol

interesting and really cool idea, although im not too into bear tattoos its original and i think thats really neat.

i hate tribal, kanji, and those godforsaken paw print tattoos. every time i see one i want to just jump off a cliff.

im hopefully starting my sleeve sometime this winter, its been months since ive been tattooed and im fiendin.

that's awesome man. very original and turned out nice.

i have a right arm sleeve, plus one of the back of my left arm, one on my calf and both feet... and i'm still very young. ha. hardly any gay dudes i've met are into it, in fact seems very unappealing to most.

Not to my taste really (not much of a tattoo person in general) but I agree it's nice that you got something unique.

Also, high five for the Fallout 3 avatar.

sleeves are kinda just as trendy as tribal/kanji/paw prints >_>

obviously more room to make it unique I guess, but sleeves all look the same to me

to each his own, of course! I find the nipple placement on this tattoo awkward.

You're crazy. Sleeves contain anything and everything you want. I love sleeves made up of a bunch of random tattoos, because there is usually some unique, funny, or deep meaning behind it. But, I love huge themed sleeves as well.

I've got to agree that sleeves are the new hip thing that entirely too many people are getting done.

I've seen some very large tatts that wander over large portions of a dude's body without covering it that looked very cool and unique.

I saw a one daddybear with a extremely well done multicolored snake that ran up one leg and then across and around his torso. It was the only ink he had which made it just that much cooler.

I think he was in a Men Over 30 flick, but I'll be damned if I can find pictures.

Thank you guys, yeah I didn't really want to get tribal stuff, or the bear paw thing. Don't dis-like them, just wanted something a bit more original and meaningful to me.

I love how it turned out; I feel more like I got a piece of art on my chest than what most people think when they hear tattoo.

torand, the tattoo looks great!

I agree that tattoos have become rather trendy over the past few years... with all the tattoo shows that come on cable, etc. However, there are some of us that have been into tattoos way before they became popular culture and trendy. But, really, that doesn't bother me. Tattoos have special meaning to a lot of the people that get them. Like me. For instance, I got my first tattoo at an early age... it was to commemorate the passing of my grandfather, yet it also reflects my Scottish hertiage. Since then, I've gotten several more tattoos, and plan on getting a few more. Including full sleeves on both arms.

Anyway, that's my two cents worth... LOL!

I would agree that they have become more trendy, but also, tattoos are becoming more socially acceptable - which rules. I don't think you could say sleeves are "trendy"... not everyone is going to go out and get a sleeve. That's a lot of time, money, and pain for something that's just trendy. Now, I'm not saying there aren't people out there that do it because they think it's the cool thing, but they are few and far between. People may go out and get some stupid tribal work done... but they'd have to be pretty devoted for an entire sleeve.

Also, I plan on getting a bunch of tattoos with little meaning to them. I love random tattoos. They might have a tiny bit of meaning to them, but nothing "deep". Hell, it could be as simple as, "man, I loved this movie, so I got a tattoo."

Oh, I agree completely. Sleeves take a lot of devotion, and I don't see any trend followers going out and getting inked all over just because their friends are doing it. Tattoos hurt, if they didn't, more people would have them. However, I have seen some people get tats just because their friends did. I've seen lots of girls with tramp stamps and guys with tribal armbands, and to me, that's a bit trendy.

I like getting tattoos that, to me, are symbolic or represent a time in my life that was special. I try to think before hand..."will I be happy with this tattoo when I'm 50, 60, or 70?". Again, that's just me... I don't think everyone should be the same way. I don't see anything wrong with someone going out and getting a picture of a character from a movie, comic book, or whatever. Because if they like the movie, etc. it usually reflects a small portion of the individual that has it. I don't think they'd go out and get something permant if they didn't like said movie. However, as time goes by, they may not like the tattoo any longer.

As for random tattoos, I don't see anything wrong with that either... because to me, even random tattoos says something about the person getting it.

I hope that post make sense...I'm running off about an hour and half of sleep.

I'm not really keen on bear tattoos but to each his own. Think is cool that you got something unique that's not a paw print or a band.

Just a tip for folks looking to get tattoos. I got my first in '92 and second in '00. They're both graphic designs on my biceps. Tatto pain factor is subjective and also depends on where you get em. On a fairly non-tender area like outside bicep it didn't hurt just felt like a repetitive scratching sensation.

Also with first tattoo I used the traditional bascitration ointment and the whole thing took about 2 weeks to heal including scab fall off. The second one my artist rec'd Bag Balm ointment which was actually designed for cow udder issues. But a similar sized tattoo healed in about 5 days including scab fall off. That stuff rocks.

Is this the right time to bring up the 'how many piercings can I get' arms race as well? :p

Hahah. I can't do piercings. I had my septum pierced (you know, the 'bull' piercing... right in the middle of the nose, between the nostrils), and had my tragus (the most forward part of you ear... the piercing itself didn't hurt, intriguing sensation to say the least, but the aftercare was such a pain in the ass. Plus, I'm just really not a huge fan of piercings, I just did them because I worked at a piercing place, and they were dirt cheap.

It's only for a little bit. :D Then you don't really have to do anything with it. Well, I guess it depends where it is.

Tattoo care was bad enough, and that was only two weeks. The care of the piercing can take months... plus it's really annoying when all the crust forms around it, and you're trying to manipulate the ring to clean it... feels like little glass shards are being shoved through the hole (which, they might as well be, really). Not a pleasant feeling. Plus, the one I had in my septum started to have a constant, not too pleasant, smell to it. It's just like gauging your ears, and that ear-cheese stench. Bleh. I took that out because of it.

I have a few piercing... both ears, both nips. I've had my septum pierced, but I took the ring out. It just wasn't me. I liked it when I shaved my head...but it doesn't look right on me anymore. What I have now is all I want, no more piercings for me.
