It's depressing to me that fat people jokes are considered okay in todays society, yet if you make fun of a homosexual or a black person you're considered racist or homophobic. I'm not fat but I think people who make fun of fat people should be lined up against the nearest wall and shot.

But anyway you have a social/ ethical obligation to chastise someone for any sort of appetitive overindulgence. Showing a picture of a fat female and then stating "I guess this is the reason we''re all gay" is neither a joke or intelligent in my opinion. Jokes are great when the other person is in on the joke but this type of humour is like a straight person putting up a picture of a "dirty faggot" and saying this is why we're all straight. Pointless.

It's equally depressing that people encourage the use of violence to prove a point. Another unfortunate indication that increased violence is acceptable in our society.

I wasn't talking about that girl I was talking about fat jokes in general, as I said, when you specifically point the joke to a given person then that's another thing and it could be considered offensive.

personally attacking someone and making a joke is two different things. i'm sure everyone here has either been to or seen a comedy show. the majority of the jokes are making fun of people, which im sure all of you have laughed at. everyday on this site i read jokes of all types about the President. Yes, they are funny, but wait a minute, you're making fun of him because of who he is. Wait now, that's not funny. And don't try to say it's because he is stupid or ugly or whatever some may say, because it's the same thing as making fun of a person with a learning disability or someone who truly is ugly.

everyone tries to be so politically correct these days but let's face it. it sucks. nothing and no one is perfect. we are all different and there's nothing you can do but laugh.

if you are 500lbs and post your picture on the internet, you know people are going to say things and joke. no, you shouldn't be ashamed of yourself but at the same time, don't act like you didn't know people were going to say something about it.

Maybe it's just me. Maybe i live in this little world where I think it's okay to laugh at anything and everything that i find funny. As long as I know when the joke is over, that it was just a joke, there is nothing wrong.

However, suggesting that we "shoot" people who do...is more of the same. Intolerance can't be met with more...intolerance. Because then it just comes down to who's more powerful.

But let's say this,

she is mordbily obbese. Medically, she's serousily endangering her life and likely lowering her quality of life. And that's her choice. But, we have every right to stop and say, "hey, carol. I don't think that is healthy for you, perhaps there is a better option?"

I mean, if this was a website where someone was posting picture of unsafe sex with a prostiute because it made them feel empowered...

most of us would be horrified and likely be sending angry letters.

Violence is fine in my opinion when it's carried out agaisnt stupid, ignorant, self deluded people who think that being fat is a crime.
