I decided to take out the concrete back steps at the back door and replace them with a deck that would incorporate a ramp leading to our driveway so my wife could have easier access or egress to our home.
I got the steps out pretty easily and built the first part of the deck which is about 4x8 feet and will intersect the main deck which will be 8x20 ft.
With no steps I decided to use a ramp that we had bought for a large dog about 10 years ago, it seemed like a good idea.
I was nearly at the top of the ramp (about 2 ft. off of the ground) when this ramp slipped from the deck and I went straight down, I found myself laying on some debris and could hardly move. I finally managed to get to my feet and set around last night then went to bed. I hurt all night long.
Today I was hobbling around and took the day off from any further work. Tomorow, I will get back at it.
