ive watched this show all of 20 minutes, and havn't seen the first 3 (or 2???) seasons. just have to say i aint got no clue what the fuck is going on. from the hype, the last seasons wouln't have helped. thats all i got

Well, I totally adored the fact that they brought the Jack/Kate/Sawyer triangle back to the forefront.

Why DID Kate always ask Sawyer's name FIRST when asking, "What have you done with Sawyer and Jack?"

But what about "The Others" whom we now realize were having a book club meeting when Oceanic 815 crashed and that these others were waiting for this to happen.

(sidenote: LOVED Juliette clutching a Stephen King novel when the flashback to the crash occurred! )

Are they like angels or screeners? Hmmm.

Looks like it's gonna be another wild season.

P.S. I think it's the new Time magazine (the one that tells us there is less than a 2% DNA difference in us and monkeys) that features at the very top: "Why The Future Of TV Is Lost" Hehe.

It's two seasons... and seeing the previous two seasons would have helped a little... not much, but a little. Right now, we're all 'Lost' because we all don't know who the Others really are...

did anyone else think the show was a bit ad-heavy? i felt like i had to ff a commercial every six minutes.

I cannot stand this show! I want to watch it, but I hate all the commercials and having to wait a week >.<

Screw this. I am going to get the season when it comes out on DVD.

Ha Ha.

It seems everybody's gripe with this downright exceptional show is that they want to "fast forward" through the adventure of it all.

Reality TV and stuff like "Sex & The City," "The Sopranos," etc. (which in my opinion never deserved their praise and never actually ran for a full season each year) has spoiled and downgraded the imagination of the TV viewer.

And "Lost" brings us back to a time in TV where each week pieces of the puzzle were put together and small intricacies were explored. This show is NOT for people that think they're gonna find the answer on "next week's episode."

Heck, the only thing we've been promised for this season is that Kate will chose between Sawyer and Jack. That's it.

BTW: my 2 cents. I think "The Others" are in fact good. Holy? I don't know.

WHy have you suddenly started watching after 49 episodes?

Its hard enough to follow sometimes having seen EVERY episode!

i dont have cable, i was home and bored...and there was nothing else on. if no one knows whats going on after 2 seasons, it seems like im already caught up anyways ;)

Thats screwy logic.

There are 49 episdes so far of dense plotting, clues, red herrings, subtle references, character details, etc, that you simply wont be aware of, and therefore when something really weird/good happens, you probably wont have any idea of the significance or relevance. You'd be better off getting season 1 on DVD and working through that...

You simply can't just start watching this show without starting from the beginning, and expect to like it. So please do us fans a favor and refrain from trashing it if you haven't been faithful to it from the start.

And true, the show never seems to answer much. But that is the main appeal of it. The writing and production values are top-notch. And just always remember Locke's words from season 1, "everything happens for a reason."

People who want to start watching I suggest first you go out and rent seasons 1 & 2... you'll watch them in less time then you think because it's pretty damn good at pulling you in... although I still want to know wtf? with the polar bear?

This is ridiculous. For this reason alone, I will never watch, rent, buy any episode of this series at all.

i like the show a lot.... unfortunatly my sister didn't like the season 3 premeir but from what i heard not a lot of people did... i actually did like it a lot
everyone thought they would reveal stuff.... and i'm like "look at the first 2 seasons... everything was slowly revealed through the entire season they are not going to give you answers episode 1 they are going to use episode 1 as a set up point to show where the season is kinda goin. this season will focus on the others and their relationships while not taking the spotlight from those 3 annoying main characters" thats basically what i keep telling people... just be patient and watch the show like all the other seasons...

That's true but you need to give so answers now and then... and I would've preferred if it wasn't all Jack/Sawyer/Kate.

they did give answer though... just not to your specific questions...

**SPOILER WARNING**
if you haven't seen it yet do not read further if you don't like spoiler...

we know they live on the island in nicer houses... we know they have access or recently had access to the outside world (steven king book + nice more modern clothes) we know that they have access to Dharma instilations we know more about the others though its all more subtle things... they are slowly revealing stuff and the past 2 seasons revealed little... remember this was the season premire its not supposed to reveal a lot... we have the entire season so just be patient

That's not alot that's all stuff we should've assumed from the episode with Kate and Claire looking through the abandoned building I mean something as of WTF is there purpose and WTF did they come from ad WTF did they want Michael sons and WTF is with that black mist Eeko saw? Do the others control or coexist with it? What's the deal with the underground machines that almost took locke? What about everyone's halluciations... kate's horse, shannon seeing Walt, Jack's walking dead father, etc... I mean stuff from the precious two seasons that were never answered.

What is ridiculous?
That you can't discover a whole story line from watching one episode?
I'm just trying to figure out who thought it would be a good idea to have a show that alienates new viewers? What if all the promo and publicity blitz leading up to their show's season premiere worked, and they got an influx of new viewers? Their idea of viewer retention is making the show impossible for the new kids to understand and immensely exclusive?

I'd rather watch a spanish-speaking Colombian televnovela... true, because Latin guys make me horny, but at least those are easier to understand!

whats hard to understand about it?
I don't get why people have a problem with this show....
they are on an island... they can't get off... there are people there that have been there a while... thats about all of us 1st season watchers know... aside the back stories of characters which are not important to understand what is going on....
