i m...er...lost

ive watched this show all of 20 minutes, and havn't seen the first 3 (or 2???) seasons. just have to say i aint got no clue what the fuck is going on. from the hype, the last seasons wouln't have helped. thats all i got

I'm just trying to figure out who thought it would be a good idea to have a show that alienates new viewers? What if all the promo and publicity blitz leading up to their show's season premiere worked, and they got an influx of new viewers? Their idea of viewer retention is making the show impossible for the new kids to understand and immensely exclusive?

The ABC website has made a good effort to allow for new viewers to get caught up on the basics of the show...

go to ABC.com > SHOWS > PRIMETIME-LOST > click WATCH LOST ONLINE NOW. CLICK HERE > click on the LOST PICTURE > gives you 3 free shows to watch on-line... s2 finale, s1 and s2 recap (sneek peek) and s3 premier. The sneek peek episode is probably the quickest way to get current.

on the Lost home page you can also read summaries of each episode in the EPISODE GUIDE. Look around the website further and you'll get more info on all the characters/bios...relationships and interactions prior to the crash.

I absolutely love this show (but I also enjoy a good mystery/thriller as well) and think it is brilliant how the story unfolds slowly like a good Stephen King mystery does. You're not supposed to understand it until "they" want you to get another piece of the puzzle. We are supposed to feel as LOST as the survivors are/do. Half the fun of watching it is talking about it with others afterwards and comparing theories on what the hell is going on...guessing what it all could possibly mean and then being thrown for yet another loop when the next episode airs.

Up until the season 3 premier, I thought all of the survivors were really all mental patients living in a fantasy world and "the others" were the hospital staff...I don't think so any longer...not really sure now why "the others" are experimenting with them like they are.

I am so caught up in this show I have polar bears in my dreams. I just totally love this show.

Hehe that theory was ruled out after like the very first episode ;)

oh enlightened one...please tell me more...surely you must have it all figured out

actually...it was towards the end of season 2 when Hurley and Libby were getting close and they had the flash back scene that showed them both in the same mental institution prior to being on the island...with his imaginary friend Dave...I thought it may have been some kind of clue...but like I said...I don't think that any longer.

Uh yeah ok... that would make sense if I suggested anything even remotely like that.

Regardless of when you came up with it, that kind of thing was one of the first theories to be put down.

okay...maybe I wasn't clear enough...](*,)

You said that theory was ruled out in the first episode ...and I want to know how and by whom it was ruled out? I am not disputing you on this...it must have been something I missed and I am curious. I don't recall any conversations or mention of a mental hospitals/patients in the early episodes...the first time I ever heard that mentioned was in (or around) the "Dave" episode I previously mentioned. Please tell me how you knew.

I've always watched the show as being enigmatic...there has been so much fantasy and unexplainable phenomina that the idea that it could all have been some kind of a delusion or illusion seemed possible.
