these women are crazy!

i got out of work early and turned on the tv hoping to get some quality dr. phil time because restlessone is starved for intelligent conversation but alas i did not get out early enough! sorry ro. ;)

anyhow, i left the tv on oprah. well they're rerunning her 'favorite things' episode and i kid you not... there are ladies there that were in histrionics! some were even crying!

i guess i can't give them too much grief. they are getting some free swag after all.

ooh. martha stewart vs. oprah winfrey?

it'd be like a japanese monster movie battle royale. ;)

Ooooo girl, her favorite things episodes are all about histronics! All she's gotta do is say "This is one of my favorite things" and the audience goes ape-shit.

"Favorite Things" was the theme of our last Christmas party. We received slips of paper telling us how to react when we received our Secret Santa gift. Mine was to jump up and down and to start praising Jesus. We had a blast.

Sorry... you had to be there to see the reaction to the person who's favorite thing was a box of paper clips -she had to basically have an orgasm (actually, I think that was what we wrote on her slip of paper...)

The best part was me imitating Mr. Rogers and reading "The Gas We Pass." I did the entire sittting down and changing shoes and putting on a sweater before launching into the story; complete with dramatic pauses and sound effects!

-I'm not sure what they're planning for me this year...

rats. :(

but i'm sure you'll keep me updated on what you end up doing. ;)

tomorrow is my staff's meeting/christmas party. nothing special. we'll just eat.

she gave them these fancy refrigerators with tv's on the door.

women were weeping.

seriously.

meh... No worries, GL.

I can't say it's the first time Oprah's let me down.

i'm gonna ask santa clause for a dvr so i can record dr. phil.

once i've got that then i'll bone up on dr. phil topics so i can talk all intelligent 'n shit.

;)

Hell, I'ld weep for a $3,000.00 LG fridge! But I think the comment about the taxes may have been closer to the truth than one might wish. Good call. ..|

Um...

Who is Dr. Phil? Do I know him? ...or is he another one of those people from tv...

kill my television??? are you mad???

how else would i watch my battlestar galactica and various science fiction reruns?

honestly, the very notion frightens me!

;)

I too watched part of this today. First Oprah I've seen in some time, I didn't know it was a repeat.

I dunno, maybe I'm bitter and jaded. If someone gave me a new refrigerator (with a TV inexplicably placed in the door...are we supposed to pull up a chair and stare at the icebox ?) I'd be very happy and grateful, but I don't think I'd slip into a gran mal seizure and sob uncontrollably over it.

God bless these mildly delusional women.

SNL did a very funny skit about this a couple of years ago. Women in the audience where shown having heart attacks, passing out....one woman began to give birth in the aisle... funny stuff.

However, if they were giving Josh Grobin away for the evening I might change my tune... ;)
