I Publicly Apologize To Andreus

Hell, I can count the number of times I've apologized for anything on my pinkie finger but I apologize to Andreus publicly for the argument we had a while back about his religion and people and the things I said to him cause I spend a lot of time in the politics section and I'm beginning to see how he's always under attack for being Muslim. I've seen 4 different threads in 2 different sections tonight where he's having to argue that not all his people are killers with some of our more conservative members basically arguing they are...it's been like this over and over again in thread after thread, month after month. So Andreus, I'm sorry...I hate to think I ever was on the same side of the fence as these guys. I'd be banned from swearing at these jerks if I had to put up with them attacking who I was constantly. Amazing how we believe in judging people as indivuals only when it suits our purpose.

And no I am not drunk. I gotta get up for work soon.

I know I too have to keep it all in perspective too......NOT all followers of Islam are bad people! All religions have bad guys! We canNOT attack ALL moslems for those who terrorize the West!

Soirt of how Christians are all lumped with the religious right here?Any apologies by you or our any other of our leftist brigade here?Most Muslims are good,decent people trying their best for themselves and their families....but a vocal and fanatical minority wants to impose their own religious right fanaticism....and with all the talk of seperation of church and state here,in most Muslim nations,there is no such thing.The generalizations of a couple of conservatives heredoes not make the non-progressive left contigent here bad guys or haters,and if you're ashamed of us,too bad for you.I though would also say to Andreus that nothing excuses hatred or ignorance toward Muslims at all.If we want understanding,we cannot take,on either side,the reprehensible and hateful actions and beliefs of some Christians and Muslims should be condemned and NOT taken as representative of either faith's true essence.My own apologies to Andreus for this rant......I don't always agree with him,but do respect him and understand where he is coming from.

I cant tell you how much I appreciate it.

I do take the arguement on because I get alot of PM's from gay muslim men who lurk here. I always have.

So I just try to ballance out the rhetoric.

the bottom line is that its vary very hard to be Muslim in america right now... if theres any group that is almost as under attack as the muslims in america, it is gay people.

Sadly Gay muslims wind up being outsiders for both communities.

We are making gains and things are changing because we are refusing to go away and refusing to be silent.

Once again, I appreciate your recent kindness and I am learning to enjoy your posts a whole lot at JUB.
