I was on the highway when I saw cars ahead of me stopping and honking. Turned out to be a dog on the highway in traffic. It was running up to passing by cars. I stopped and called it. Came running to me. Put him in my truck.

Took him to my vet to scan for a chip. None found. I began the long and arduous search for where he belonged.

Long story short. Dog belonged to grandma. Grandma died. Grandson took dog in. Grandson got arrested and put in jail. Girlfriend (now ex) decided to dump the dog far away.

He is now safe at home with my bf. I'm spending this weekend at my parents house. We already got 4 dogs and 3 cats so we have decided we can't have 5 dogs. So when I get back I will look for a new family for this dog.

He is very friendly. Doing well with all our dogs and cats. I visited a tenant who has 3 kids and the dog was very good with the kids. Hopefully, it will be easy to find him a good home.

I swear to God some people have no heart. I don't care what her circumstances were. Dumping a little dog like this in a high traffic area is not cool! Thankfully, people were stopping and avoiding him instead of being asshole and running over him.

Australian cattle dog. One of the smartest breeds in the world, but not a dog for beginners.

They are extremely high energy, so anyone not willing to play and exercise with it will find themselves battling redirected energy that surfaces as destruction and escapes.

I'm glad he found a better owner.

If it makes you feel any better, the people who abandon dogs like that are not much better parents.

Well done you for rescuing the little chap. I don't suppose that five dogs are much more trouble than four, so if he's fitted in so well with your pack, maybe he's already found his forever home.

. . . .

How did you get this information, and can you prove any of it?

Are there laws against abandoning animals in your area?

Can you prove she caused a major traffic hazard?

Are there laws against letting your dogs run free, or must they be leashed?

There must be charges that can be brought against her.

If nothing else, take the story to the local news papers/stations. She needs to be held accountable, and the publicity might help find a good home for the pooch.

That's awful how someone would do such a thing at least you were able to get it and it will go to a good home

Got it from various sources including the woman.

Don't know. But there are laws against theft and they ain't doing nothing with the $30k theft against me even though there's a confession text and witnesses. So...

Can you prove she caused a major traffic hazard?
I don't know what you mean by prove. I don't have a video or anything like that.

Are there laws against letting your dogs run free, or must they be leashed?
No idea.

Again, there is a $30k case I'm waiting for them to do something about. And they ain't doing nothing about it. You think they care about some dog running around?

No, I won't do that. Not everybody wants to become famous you know.

People often treat animals like objects.
I remember one day, I was with my ex and saw a dog at a highway, i tried my best save the poor dog but the moment I come closer the dog run away and got run over by a car, the sound was terrible.

That day i felt really bad, smoke a lot thinking on that poor dog, the worst, 100% was someone dog.

That's how we found a lovely puppy on Christmas Day, 1995. It was the best present ever  He stayed with us for 17 years!
I should be grateful to the monster who abandoned him.

Give him to Vannie.
He is a cutie. I will be working more in a fuller capacity so I need to think a bit more on getting a pooch.

Good on Dominus though for picking him upm

Good news everyone. I've been posting his pics on FB groups for rehoming pets. There is a family of 4 with a dog and a cat that has reached out to me to adopt this dog. They live about 3 hours from where I live. We will meet somewhere in the middle on Jan 2nd. Been talking to them and they seem like nice folks.

Thank goodness he will hopefully have a loving home.
