Does anyone else love 30 Rock? I know it's quite a niche show and I don't know how much of a gay following it has (if any), but it's currently the only show I watch religiously and the only comedy I can safely say i've seen at least four times over (each episode, of each series, up to 4.12 that aired last week in the US).

Whether it's Tina Fey as Liz Lemon getting into stupid work situations, or Jenna finding new ways of exploring her own narcissism, or any other character it always gives me the chuckles. Sometimes I think I find things funny that nobody else notices, like last week when Tracy called Liz "LiLem" (parody on perez hilton calling Lindsay Lohan LiLo) and also when Jenna was distraught her stalker had lost interest in her possibly stalking someone else, and she jerked "It's one of those kids from GLEE isn't it!!!?" a clear shout-out to the lost best comedy emmy this year.

Other moments that had me cracking up were last week when Jack took Jenna into his office for a presentation on dealing with harrasing mothers and the slideshow showed the word saying "NO" in different languages where Jack said "That word, "NO", is your best friend" and Jenna responded with "best friend with benefits? ;)"

I sometimes think of the show as a live action family guy in a way with it's nonsensical flashbacks that serve no purpose to the plot than otherwise to make you laugh, like last week where Liz was asked if she watches the news for advice on the global market and instead it flashed back to her while she voiced over saying she gets all her money advice from PBS - with a cartoon playing and animated characters asking "Should I put my money in the housing market or in stocks?" and liz yelling "stocks, mr money machine!".

Hee.

Do I love 30 Rock? Does astronaut Mike Dexter ride a motorcycle?

Absolutely love the show and Alec Baldwin is such a lunatic and sexy as hell.

"30 Rock"...uh, Rocks! Love the "Family Guy" style cutaways. Along with "The Office" it's a great 1 hour block of comedy on NBC. Since show mastermind Tina Fey is so gay friendly, the episodes almost always have a gay plotline, character or subtext. A number of examples come to mind, The first is Jack Donaghy's assistant Jonathan who seems to have the kind of unrequited love for his boss that Smithers has with Mr. Burns on "The Simpsons". Second is Jack's gay nemesis Devon, hysterically played by Will Arnett. Third is Jenna and her circle of fabulous gay friends. And finally an episode from earlier this year where Liz accidentally outed her teenage Cousin at a family gathering. Her cousin (who is very cute), who lived an incredibly sheltered life in rural Pennsylvania comes to New York to live with Liz as a result and finds himself overwhelmed by the attention he is getting from men everywhere he goes, very funny.

The show while critically acclaimed and showered with awards is always on the cusp of being cancelled for sub par ratings. If not for the clout of Executive producer Lorne Michaels it probably would have been a long time ago.

I've started a thread on 30 Rock before, but I love the show so much that I won't bump it ;)

It's absolutely brilliant. The writing, the acting, the comedy, all of it. I get so excited on Thursdays when there is a new episode I liz a little.

One of my favorite scenes ever, from season 3 I believe:

Jenna: Everybody shout out words that describe my beauty.
Peter: Fading.
Cerie: 80s!
Richard Esposito: 1880s.

I fell off the couch I was laughing so hard. ..|

I believe the show is going okay with ratings, compared to the rest of the NBC comedies, it always comes in second out of the four behind the office. This season 30 Rock has averaged 6.0 million viewers so far, with the office I believe about 7.2 million. However, Parks and Recreation and Community both score in the lower to middle 4 million mark.

I'm confident NBC will renew 30 Rock for season five soon. I'd begin to worry if episodes ever fell below the 5 million mark, though.

"Fresh Ass" based off the novel "Tush" by Assfire?

:rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

Holy shit. I laughed so hard for about 10 minutes straight, and rewound it 3 times. That whole scene was so awesome...

^ I agree that just when I don't think this show could get any better, in continuously makes me generally enjoy living.

When they showed the parody of "Paranormal Activity" where Liz was sleep eating pizza and cigarettes...god. Brilliant and hilarious. ..|

Even if they have a "bad" episode, which imho is rare if ever, that "bad" episode is 20x better than any of the other shite on TV :)

I've officially seen every episode! Hilarious! So rarely does it seem a show get me cry laughing at the absurdity. I really appreciate the show and all the ongoing gags.

Liz, Jack, Jenna, Tracy, Kenneth = Heaven. Those people are crazy it works so well. And I'm crushing on Jack's assistant.

I love 30 Rock. Although I have only seen the first season and the first two episodes of the second.

It is a brilliant show that I cannot wait to see the next season.

I am a long time lurker of the boards, first time poster, and i had to pop my posting cherry to profess my love for 30 Rock. It is THE best show on television and everybody should watch it.

probably one of the best quotes from season 4- winter madness is Liz doing a presentation to Jack to go to florida:

Liz: "Revenue streams, deal mechanics, cross promotion, jargon = Synergy."

Jack: "........That is the best presentation I have ever seen!"

i was on the floor laughing
