I've given up drinking.

i've given up sugar.

I've given up bread.

i've given up Potatoes, pasta and rice.

I've given up carrots

i've given up coffee

I've given up anything with Caffine (which raises your insulin even though it has no calories).

I've given up any carbs at all after 10:00 am

I do an hour of cardio two times a week and weight training three times a week.

I drink a gallon of water every day.

And it's working.(!)

What do you eat? i want abs ](*,) but u listed a ton of stuff i eat/drink alot of right now lol

Quoting Brisyboy:

I guess I'm lucky to be one of those that can eat like a horse and not put on any weight. I'm short and have always been skinny.

Quoting Soilwork:

So was I at 23.

Trust me, that doesn't last into your 40s.

Well, I beg to differ.....nearly 42 here, and I'm still barely 140lbs. I just don't gain (please, don't hate me!).

All the best to you in meeting/ and or exceeding your goals.

Well, I have a bowl of fruit or berries when I first wake up.

then half an hour later a bowl of Shreaded wheat... then I'm done with carbs for the day.

Then I'm free to eat cheese, Chicken, Eggs, Vegetables...

For lunch today I had a nice big omlette with Chorizo, Tomatoes, Cheese and onions with grilled tomotoes on the side.

I'll have a spinach salad later today with oil and vinigar dressing and some celery sticks a while after that.

I'm not hungry at all, really..

doing great.

But it's working.

Good luck man I could never even consider giving up all those food and types of food and thats probably why I'm fat. Oh well congrats that it's going well, and once again good luck.

but yeah... I'm in this for the long haul.

I haven't had a cigarette or a drink for two weeks... I have more energy and I feel great.

Wow, this is great news. Seeing this also helps my resolve to stick with what I'M doing, believe me.

You just started this I guess, and you're already noticing the difference. Less weight, more energy...as you stick to your plan, it will ONLY get even better, I assure you.

You have very possibly given at least one or two JUB'ers the impetus to start something of their own. (Just because they don't post, doesn't mean there's no effect - there are a LOT of lurkers in here who may be "watching" this.) Everybody who has ever started a diet of any kind, reached a point where they decided to do so, and you may have provided the tipping point for some. I'm not understating at all when I say that I've noticed you have a lot of devotees/fans on this site, who carefully read what you say. They will in turn see this working wonders for you, and I assume you'll keep us posted.

If you do some "after" pictures, that will be great of course - they will PROVE that this works. Even though, in my case, the pictures aren't necessary, as I've already witnessed some stages of "after" in my own body (having lost 40 pounds).

And, last but CERTAINLY not least, I totally applaud you for walking away from the cigarettes. I never had that addiction, but I understand it can be VERY hard to stop. Without fail, whenever I see somebody (even somebody who is a TOTAL stranger to me) mention they're quitting cigarettes or a "hard" drug, I make sure that I give them my special congratulations. I'm also not exaggerating by saying that quitting the cigarettes is REALLY the most important thing you're doing - even more so than the diet. I have a dear friend who is in terminal lung cancer, who I saw a mere five days ago, and that certainly is something to think about.

Thank you for sharing this with us, Soilwork. Again I was already working on such things myself - but I am sure that your efforts will be of helkp to other readers in these forums. You have probably gotten fairly used to the new eating guidelines already, and, yes, the "long haul" approach is by far the best.

Didnt know you smoked man! Well done on the smokes.. its been 3 weeks for me and i agree - feeling loads more energetic and great. Keep going dude.. together we'll quit those cancer sticks!..|

Hey, man...AS I SAID...to Soilwork ^

I'm so happy to hear you've found a way to quit the cigarettes. I actually didn't realize that somebody quitting cigarettes could, singlehandedly, make them feel more enegretic and great. Both of you, PLEASE try to stay with that decision. There are few things in life you can do more important than that. And as to calling them "cancer sticks" - yes - I've been "instructed" on this all too well over the years, and most recently within the past week.
