What movies do you want to go see or have you seen recently that were very good?

I think tomorrow, I'm going to see The Band's Visit. It has gotten some of the best reviews of the year.

I want to go see The Other Boleyn Girl, because I'm a big fan of Natalie Portman...

The last movie I saw was The Bucket List, and I thought that was a charming little movie. Not the greatest, but not bad.

The last movies I saw were...
"Meet The Spartans" (Lame, but had a few giggle moments.).
"Enchanted" ( AMAZING! ), and
"Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street" (AMAZING).

Nowhere [1997] (weird)
Strange Days [1995] (really cool)
Smiley Face [2007] (high-larious)
Lions For Lambs [2007] (dull)
In the Land of Women [2007] (ok)
Things We Lost In the Fire [2007] (pretty good)

Just got back from seeing "Starting Out in the Evening" www.startingoutfilm.com

Basically because I'm a huge fan of Lauren Ambrose ('Clair Fisher' in 'Six Feet Under')

Definitely worth seeing.... I'd say more, but I don't want to give too much away....

I can't think of another film I'd rather see this weekend.

i saw 'charlie bartlett' a couple of weeks ago and thought it was pretty good.

right now i'm looking forward to summer beginning with iron man then indiana jones and the kingdom of the crystal skull this coming may and the x-files 2. but the big one... the dark knight! they are both due in july.

:( I refuse to watch that or "Batman Begins" because of Christian Bale. He pulled the look off but as soon as he spoke I was ready to chop off his feet. He ruined Batman movies for me. He should be replaced.

I recently saw The Orphanage and I completely recommend it.

If you like scary movies go see this one. It's not the typical big-man-with an-axe-chasing-teenagers movie but a very dark movie that keeps you in suspense through the whole 2 hours.

So...

GO

SEE

IT.

And tell me what you thought of it.

Ooo ! I've been wanting to see that one. It's directed by the guy who directed 'Pan's Labyrinth', isn't it ?

Sadly, it's only playing at a small art house theater here in town. Crappy screen...

Ahh well, I'll wait for the DVD.

I saw it. I was actually a little disapointed in the story. I found it to be too predicable. I guess it is ok as a children's story but not necessarily recommended for adults that don't feel the need for the story teller to tell us every last deal.

What?? Really??? I didn't see it that way at all.

I didn't feel it was predictable and it's certainly not a children's story.

And there's no storyteller...

Are you sure you're talking about the same movie? I think you're confused.

That's The Orphanage.

yep...it's the same movie. By storyteller, I mean the writer. I probably would not have been so hard on the film, but I have been to so many excellent films recently where they were the writing, acting, scenes, etc. were top notch. Please don't find what I say offensive....I generally have odd movie tastes when compared to main stream America.

In the regular movie theaters, I really enjoyed Juno and Atonement.
