Any of you guys into of ever been into Industrial or Goth music?
I was really into goth when I was 12-17, then moved on to industrial during my college years. Still listen to my old stuff.

What are your favorite bands and songs?

Fav Bands:
Industrial - :Wumpscut:, Haujobb, yelworC, Skinny Puppy, Download
Goth - Christian Death (with Rozz Williams), The Wake, Bauhaus

Fav Songs:
:Wumpscut: - Mother
Download - Glassblower
Christian Death - Spiritual Cramp
Rozz Williams - Flowers

Hyperion, Rozz was the shit, may he rest in peace. Valor fucked up Christian Death once he took over. I remember seeing ROzz with Gitaine Demone on the Dream Home Heartache tour. It was one of the most amazing shows I've ever seen. One of the best records ever, too.

Paul: I LOVE LOVE LOVE 80s UK goth. The Mission was fucking awesome. Sisters were a given, but Andrew Eldridge is a douchebag, so I got a little turned off by them in thier later years. Fields of Nephilim were amazing, too. I'd actually go as far to say that all of the good goth music came from the UK.

I've always liked industrial.. I think my favs are a bit newer though, cus I haven't heard of those listed up there..

Nine Inch Nails (of course), Stabbing Westward, Kidneythieves, Filter

Of course nine, gravity kills, stabbing westward, and what about ministry?

It's not that they're newer they're more Guitar Industrial.
Industrial tends to get divided into 2 groups in general, though many smaller distinctions have been named. Electro industrial, which is what most of what I listen to. Then there's guitar industrial, which is where NIN, Filter's first record, Stabbing Westward, Cubanate, Swamp Terrorists, and the like fall.

I loved ministry up until Filth Pig, that record made me lose all faith in Ministry. i'd rather listen to Ministry's older synthpop stuff than listen to the later records.

Other good Industrial bands to check out: Cenobita, Hocico, Android Lust, Cyberaktif, yelworC, Spahn Ranch.

NIN!!!!!! I'm going to their tour in May, got my ticket rite here!

Apparently NIN are coming to download festival. It's not confirmed, but apparently this is straight form the horse's mouth, so to speak - Reznor himself. If they do, then I'll be seeing them in June.

I can't believe you guys left off the best Industrial band ever....

K.M.F.D.M.

these guys are founding fathers of modern industrial....

I also like Covenant, Ministry, Apoptygma Beseark, and VNV Nation... tho they are more modern sounding then their predecessors...

Sweet, a thread about two good genre's of music I enjoy. I listen to a wee bit Industrial such as: Skinny Puppy, :wumpscut:, KMFDM, Ministry, Front 242, Dope Stars Inc., Frontline Assembly, etc.. As for goth, I listen to: The Cure, Bauhaus, Cinema Strange, Tragic Black, Alien Sex Fiend, Christian Death, The Sisters of Mercy, Joy Division(I consider some of their music goth, I know, it's rather taboo to call them goth, but whatever) and so on.
