I have this computer and i have comcast cable modem and i plug it in and it keeps saying limited or no connectivity

I don't understand how i use the same process for dsl and it works but cable wont work

I had the same problem--first check and make sure that they have your service turned on---I was waiting for the modem to arrive and when it did they had forgot to turn in a service order to have the line turned on---and then the cable from the modem to computer would not work but there was another cable included in my package that hooked to my usb port and that did the charm. my computer "saw" the new modem and even ran me thru a wizard so I did not even have to load the disk the cable company sent.

Usually a "Limited or No Connectivity" error happens when your computer can't find a DHCP Server to assign it an address.

(Assuming you have Win XP)

Go to Start -> Control Panel -> Network Connections

Right click on "Local Area Connection" and click "status".

Click on the "Support" tab.

What's listed there?

The limited connectivity error is more than likely your provider preventing your line from getting past their internal network. The computer sees the "gateway" but the gaurds wont let it out. :-)

nope .. see the reply above :)
