"Repent, Harlequin!"
My brother wants me to buy an iPad Air. I was just wondering if there is anything good or bad about them from Jubber's point of views.

I have an iPad4. It is a nice "add on" but it sure does not replace a computer.
. . . lack of a USB port so I can not bring additional movies or music on a thumb drive when traveling... The iPad needs to be connected to a computer to move files.
Given that the RRP for the base model is $499, I'd say you got a great deal.
I paid $479 for it, but Target gave me a $100 gift card so I only paid $379. Was that a good deal?
Yeah. I don't get why it doesn't have an USB port. I wish it did.
I am just surprised by the people who think it can replace a computer.
If it had a USB port, you would use it. And that would drain the battery faster.
That would be fine with me. I tend to always have my [strike]laptop[/strike] tablet plugged in.
I think you misunderstand this whole Apple thing.
Apple has decided that you don't want your tablet plugged in.
Moreover, Apple has decided that you don't want a bigger battery to support a USB port, since you don't want your tablet to be heavier or thicker than it is (which is perfect).
Telling Apple what you want is just asking for hurt. Apple tells you what you want.
^ I didn't mean to discourage you from buying Apple.
The hardware and software really are among the best available.
They do lock you into their ecosystem, however, in order to limit your options and thereby increase the company's profitability. But then, that's what companies (most assuredly including Microsoft) generally do.
I lean towards Windows products anyway. My brother is the fan boy that wanted me to buy an iPad. I did it because I hear Windows 8 sucks.
