I am thinking of getting an iPod Touch, can anyone tell me the pro/con of having this?:help: I have read tons of review on this also when on to apple.com. the audio is not a problem for me since i dont need it, i am deaf lol. It will be very helpful if anyone comment on it. Thanks :-)

Thanks, i have be giving lots of throughts and i am going to get one. what do u recommand to keep it from get scratch?

I got the iclear case from griffin which does the job well, i had a screen protector but removed it coz it just trapped dirt around the edges, screen doesnt really scratch up for me

Agent Orange or Agent 19 cases are generally good.

Cheaper to order then online. I like them because of the structure of the case is somewhat rubber but it goes around the edge. No matter how you drop it the rubber edges will hit it before the screen ever does.

However, I have an iPhone 3G and use a Treo case.

They also have the new iPod Touches which are a little smaller.

So you gotta do some searching. Generally what I do is ask the people at the apple store they usually know the best case. Or a customer.

The apple site itself is pretty good too or some review sites.

I think modmyifone isn't bad for reviews but I donno if they review cases.

And yes it's worth it.

Wi-fi, Music, Videos, App Store, iTunes Wi-Fi store.

Also the web widgets are fun too.

I freaking love the apps though.

I have like 10 pages worth of apps.

I think it's a great choice - I really love my iPhone 3G. Like gdude30 says, the applications are what makes it so worthwhile for me. I use Google Maps practically every day. I can remotely control my computers, check what's on TV, remotely tell my computer to record something off the TV, watch TV over wi-fi, check traffic, flights and weather, read a book or newspaper, listen to internet radio, play games, email, store and move computer files, watch a movie while on the gym treadmill, blah blah blah. (Obviously, the remote stuff is limited to wi-fi on the iPod compared to the iPhone. And obviously internet radio is not of interest to you.)

There are just tons of cases on the market. Google "iPod Touch case" and you'll find dozens. I have a slim rubber protective case, which included a thin adhesive scratch-guard for the screen. I can't remember the brand, sorry. But wherever you buy the iPod is bound to have a few options. And as already mentioned, if you are near an Apple store, they will have plenty to choose from.

Note that you can convert movies from DVD using a free application called Handbrake (PC, Mac & Linux) and it will include subtitle streams and everything.

The Ipod touch is really great to have, You can watch movies, photo, music, games,WiFi internet to check your email. The only thing I hate about is the fact it doesn't run a Flash program. Flash is basically what run the movies and animation on the web page. Only thing that work is the Youtube and if you don't mind watching nonsexual program then it is actually a good buy. Or you can actually convert movies to the ipod touch.

I have an ExtremeMAC case, and it's great - It's not thick either, so it still keeps the slim element, to the actual iPod itself.
I have the latest generation touch, and it's simply brilliant. I've had it for a few months, and I mentioned to my guy the other night, that since my purchase, I haven't gone anywhere without it, haha!

Videos, Music, Internet, and an absolutely massive range of other applications from weather, news, games, conversion, drawing etc..etc..

It really is a great piece of equipment. ..|
I hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine! :D

I've had mine for almost a year now and I love it. Some of the free stuff you can get at the app store really takes it to another level. I didn't get a case for it and I guess I should but it's held up remarkably well without it. The only downside I've found is the lack of Flash as Boyz said and the need to find WIFI if you're out somewhere. But it really is amazing all the cool stuff it can do. Well worth the money.

I love my touch. The down side of no camera and gps kinda sucks. Also if you stay within areas with WiFI you'll you will be very happy. I have been using mine almost as a PDA i really don't need PDA so for me it's just right. And Im a sucker for Bejeweled. The hole Mobile Me Sinc-ing thing has a few gliches but it not that bad.
BUY BUY BUY

I have had my touch for about a month now and love it. You definately need a case and screen protectors to protect your investment. I went for the rubber case cos its a slippery little sucker without one!
