Ironic questions of Job Applications.

I haven't filled out an application in a long time but I was shocked recently when a medical form asked me if I took illegal drugs.

Do people actually answer that in the positive? Is says illegal, you know!?

Sometimes I'm amazed at the questions they don't ask. My company took on an engineer recently to be a mobile electronic repair person. Turned out he had never used a soldering iron, had no knowledge of electronics and no driving license. Then they took on a bloke to test smoke detectors in buildings. He was so bad with heights he shook like a leaf on the first step of the ladder.

The question NOT asked ... I filed a complaint with the Equal Opportunity Commission against a company in San Jose, California (CALIFORNIA!!! for god's sake) who said on their applicaiton form, "Homosexuals need not apply." Does that count? Now you know why I moved to France

It's a screening tool. If you mark you cannot count beyond 10 or admit that you've done something criminal in your past, your application is just waived. At least that's what I did when I worked in retail as a manager.
