so cynical that you believe no man on this earth is worth getting to know?
yeah.
pretty cynical.

I guess you're fed up with all the dating things

i think there are a few good men still out there that are worth getting to know.

but most of the time it feels like they are few and far between.

Meh. According to your profile you're 19. You're way too young to be so bitter and jaded. Frankly, most 19 year olds don't know shit about life, and when I was 19 I certainly didn't know shit. Drop the facade and just go live your life.

:|
you're not even worth the argument, lolol.

I also think there is a tendency for young men to be jaded and cynical at 19 because you lack breadth of experience.

It is a romantic affectation that may have started during the renaissance and was brought to virtual perfection by the 19th century poets.

It is so much easier to be world weary when you've experienced only a very small part of it.

Get out there, get dirty and live life. Go work in a lumber camp or on an oil rig or a ranch. Go backpacking through Europe and India. Meet guys you didn't even imagine existed.

When you're 50 and played out, then you can complain of being cynical. But by that age, if you do as I've suggested, I'll bet you wouldn't be.

Exactly. It's what I thought.

Here's the dealio, being "jaded and disinterested" doesn't play all that well in the real world. Yes I know, being 19, emo/goth/vampire/whatever "cool" high schoolers are interested in is hard, but acting like you don't give a shit about anyone is so high school. You're a man now, so please act like one. There are people dying every day and it only accelerates from here on out. Check the faux rage against the world at the door. Men don't find other "men" living at home, never having had to support themselves, nor experienced in life whining about how jaded they are very interesting. I'm not here to bust your balls, but if you act like a child you'll get treated by a child by other men, ya know? Adult relationships require a bit of change in attitude is all I'm saying. Good luck on your journey.

let me rephrase.
for all you know, i could have been raped or molested as a child, which could influence my look on men.
so yes, you were here to "bust my balls".
you get enjoyment out of it.
which only adds to my theory that no man is worth knowing.
or, most men are not worth getting to know.
:]

people don't respond well to cynicism

you haven't said anything to prove you're that cynical

you may meet a lot of people you don't care for, but there's always a chance you will meet someone right? you can't win if you don't gamble. the only thing you're sure of in your case is losing.

haha I was like that when I was 19! "Fuck this place" that kinda attitude.

Theres nothing cool or romantic or attractive about being a cold, heartless asshole. Even when other people hurt you, its no excuse to disregard everyone else.

this actually gave me some insight :]

^ You're kidding, right?

How can you really be cynical if you've overlooked the obvious?

It either means that you're going to start trying to prove your cynicism or you're going to admit that it is more ennui than cynicism that you are cultivating as a personality type.

:grrr:

um. it just gave me some insight, is all.

LMAO. My friend Billy on my recent birthday (hes straight BTW) called me a bitter queen. Mind you hes 35 and has more "worldly experience" than myself. I took what he said to heart cuz I know hes right. Trying to get out of being one but its tough.

Get off your fucking high horse, Daniel Radcliffe. And no, I'm not saying that to the one who started this thread, in case that wasn't obvious already.

How's that for cynical?

Pretty meh actually, if you go back and read what you wrote.

Don't dwell on cynicism; tolerate what makes you happy, and avoid what doesn't.

Is that cynical?
