I am lucky in that I am almost 99% in a good mood, even first thing in the morning, I wake up between 6 and 6:15 a.m. even though my clock radio is set for 6:30 a.m.. I find a good music station and know that this helps to wake up to some good music, also I just feel lucky to be able to put my feet on the floor and get going, a lot of people wish for this and I consider myself lucky . I have probably only been in a bad or down mood about 2 or 3 times in my lifetime. I feel sorry for those who don't have a sense of humor, often wonder how they survive this world without one.

I have never been a morning person. Ever. I find that I do my best creative work late at night. For some reason, that is when my mind is thinking the clearest and ideas come to me. I don't know if all this has to do with your biological "clock" or whatever. (According to my parents, I was born at 1:32AM!) I just know that as far back as I can remember, I hated getting up in the morning. To me, breakfast is for weekends not at some unGodly morning hour. If my work would allow it, my preferred working hours would be more like Noon to 8pm. But they won't hear of it. I often wonder who it was that decided that work HAS to begin at 7:30am, 8:30am or 9am. WHY? In a world that is basically 24/7, I think we need to change these old habits and rules.

I know some will say that morning is the most beautiful time of the day but I would rather be in bed.

This may not be the answer just my case. I was not a morning person but as I got older (ok old) I found myself turning into one.

When I am home usually up by 06:00 but here in Indonesia where the mosques have very very loudspeakers on them I am up by 04:30 with the morning prayer call.

Of course you can become a morning person -- *newsflash*: just go to bed earlier! I go to bed at 9 and get up at 4:00 AM. I start work at 6, and my commute is only 13 miles, but it's much more relaxing to allow myself plenty of time in the morning.

My whole sleep schedule is messed-up. I go to sleep around 10am and sleep until 5ish..

I love being up early in the morning. The sun coming up, the start of a new day. I loathe getting up early, though.

I found if I had things to look forward to in the day, I was more likely to get up and be pleasant.

4am! That's an ungodly hour!

I HATE getting up in the morning - HATE IT! But I have never overslept/ignored the alarm clock when I have to get up early. And I function perfectly fine when I do so. So yeah, I don't know about you, but I could MAKE myself a morning person just by changing my schedule or getting another job where I have to get up early. Fortunately, I don't have to.

The best way to make yourself a morning person is to go to bed "early". That way you've got enough sleep to get up and moving earlier in the morning.

Philips has a thing called 'Wake-up Light', which fakes a sunrise. The light goes on 30 minutes before your alarm is supposed to go off, and gradually becomes more intense until it reaches full capacity a couple seconds before your alarm goes off. This will help you wake up more relaxed, as if you're on holiday. Yes, it really works.

being a Chef, I do not have morning hours. We come in at 1 to prep everything. I do only sleep from about 1am till 9am. Then before Work I run my errands

I am probably the most anti morning person there is. I'm not a coffee person either. For the last few months I've been drinking a can of rockstar every morning when I get up, and that helps quite a bit. Energy drinks give you more energy than coffee, because they also have tons of sugar and other ingredients that help with energy - not just caffeine.

Do you guys think it's either you are or you aren't?

I would like to be more of a morning person, but I can't help it- I always feel so out of it and down in the morning. :(

I know this may sound weird, but I feel somewhat depressed when I wake up in the morning. I can't explain it. It's like I feel like I'm the only one awake in the world (keep in mind this is usually from 8-10 am).

I would just like for it not to be a such an issue, as most jobs require that you wake up early.

I am not a big coffee drinker or anything. Maybe I could try orange juice or something. Maybe a jog before starting my day?

Any ideas guys? Or anyone who feels the same way? :D

I've never been a morning person.... Since i was a kid it's always taken me some time go wake up in the AM.....

Orange Juice works for me much better than coffee. When I was working I'd always have a big glass of OJ before breakfrast. Sometimes on the way to work I'd stop by 7-11 and get some coffee.

I always have hated waking up in the morning unless I had something very exciting that I was looking forward to doing.

The perfect job for me would be from 10 am to 4 pm. Just dreaming here I know.
