To me, actions speak much louder than words. So, that concludes the identity question.

Huntington Beach, CA or any other place on the globe, having sex with other guys and doing it repeatedly and enjoying it are all one thing. Waving the rainbow flag and taking part in gay pride marches is a totally different pair of shoes.

Being gay has become a matter of a lifestyle as much as it is a matter of sexual orientation. Lots of guys out there love to mess around with other guys but would never even vaguely consider your typical, Castro, WeHo or any other 'gay-prescribed' lifestyle.

If forced to be candid, which is rather a theoretical option, everyone would probably dish out his reasons.

Here are mine:

My and my BFs sexual life is really something that takes place behind the closed doors. It is nobody's friggin' business but ours.

I positively hate to be told to buy A Handbook, (gay or any other, for that matter) and live by the Handbook. For as long as I put food on my kitchen table, I'll be writing my own handbook, whenever and however I choose to.

I am perfectly comfortable with dudes, who fly the rainbow flags and march in the prides. More power to them. This is not my thing, and I won't be doing it.

I do not subscribe to the popular and rather contemporary gay attitude that sex without emotions is something to be shunned. I enjoy it and will carry on with it, for as long as I find it enjoyable.

So, yeah, other dudes just might be sharing some of those views.

I would have to agree with SilverRRCloud.

Despite all the negativity you might hear about "gay" in the media and from rightwing extremists, "gay" is probably more accepted now than ever before. What has changed is the gay community itself and how people choose to express that they are gay. It used to be that there was one "gay lifestyle"....mainstream. "Mainstream" meant you were in all the parades, your life revolved around the bar scene, you were "obvious" and flaunted it and you referred to your male friends as "she" or "her". If you were not in the mainstream, you had to be a closet case....or worse...in denial!! That's when "Bi" got a bad rap and gay was labeled a "hedonistic", self-destructive lifestyle. All crap. Enter the 21st century. Yes, there are still those who choose the "mainstream" where everything just HAS to be "gay". But many others have chosen to ASSIMILATE themselves into society and still maintain their sexual identity. This has nothing to do with being "out" or "in the closet". It is simply preference. As many people as you do see in the bars and clubs, that's how many more that don't go at all. They don't need it. They can be themselves and meet people in many other ways, like at the gym or at work or anywhere. It's called "Be my friend for me, not just because you might hope I am gay". If being gay is mutual, all the better but is it imperative? I don't think so. I have many different kinds of friends with varying sexual interests and lifestyles. Yes, some are "straight" and in one or two cases we have "experimented", had fun and that was the end of it. We are still friends and it was never a matter of "marrying" each other. I too am perfectly comfortable with "mainstream" but it's not me. I go to the bars and clubs but my life doesn't revolve around them. Frankly, I've met more great guys in "straight" sports bars than I ever met in a gay bar, including a partner of many years.

I agree with SilverRRCloud, not every one is the same and you live your life as you feel and see fit to.

2 : of, relating to, or involving sexual intercourse between persons of the same sex

guys can fuck guys and still be striahgt. they might have just been really horny and saw an opportunity or might be bi and switch back and forth from straight to gay.
u cant really know if someone is gay unless u know how they think and thats impossible to know unless u r them

Um, see my previous post above.

The notion that one can "switch" back & forth between gay & straight is just absurd.

What if it's 2 guys and a girl in a threesome and one of the guys is in the middle, having sex with both a guy and a girl at the same time?

No, these notions of yours that bisexuality or experimentation do not exist are completely absurd. It happens, I'm afraid.

Again, see my original post above. The contact, by it's very definition is homosexual behavior, weither you choose to wimp out & call yourself bi or straight.

This notion that you can have sex with guys & not call yourself gay because of social stigma or your own twisted belief that being bi is somehow better than being outright gay is absurd, a cop out and shows someone has issues.

I had sex with two girls when I was 17 & 18. That does not make me bi. That does not make me straight. At the time it made me "confused" or "experimental."

You could use the same for a "straight" male who only tries the activity, whatever it may be, once or maybe even a few times. But you cannot go around screwing dudes for YEARS and continue to idetify yourself as bi or straight.

Really? I would imagine one Professor Alfred Kinsey, PhD, might have something contrary to say on the matter. No offence to any of our esteemed JUbbers, but I should wager he (and now the staff at his institute, since he died some time back) would be the resident expert.

Incidentally, I did see your original post above. I quoted it and its followup in part. However, just because you said it and/or believe it does not make it fact.

And I would say as a bi guy that in fact you CAN go around screwing guys for years and continue to be sexually attracted to ladies. That's why it's called BIsexual, you see. Perhaps you could pop back to your online Webster and see how they define it there.

Ah yes, I see, you are a hermaphrodite.

Seriously, the definition of Bisexual is having the attraction to both sexes. The definition of homosexuality states actual erotic activity with one of the same sex. So according to definition, you can be attracted to anyone you like, but once you make that contact you are engaged in homosexual behavior. Once you engage in such behavior are you not then classified as homosexual?

No, not if you remain attracted sexually to members of the opposite sex. And especially not if you act on it.

The average gay guy wouldn't dream of having relations with a woman ever (or ever again if they've been with a woman before) - we've seen enough posts on that, in particular when someone posted a picture of a woman's crotch - but the bi guys would, and in most cases do. Therein lies the key.
