Son lived with mum's corpse for SIX years in sick scheme to cash in her pension​

Helga Maria Hengbarth was said to have died six years ago when she was 86,
but her son told neighbours in Verona, Italy that she'd moved back to Germany - while her corpse remained in their property.
He managed to collect around 156,000 euros in the course of the aforementioned years.​
 
That's actually been done quite a few times, and not all of them recent.

In my own family, someone got a pension from the Spanish American War, or somewhere along in there, and the surname was misspelled, and the family changed the spelling of the name to agree.

I'm pretty certain no one still gets the check.

Actually he collected 180,000 EUR the 156k was in GBP...
and well nycdowntowncow - whole story happened in Verona Italy so that`s why I called it "Italian Psycho" :rolleyes:​

Indeed. I didn't and don't get the meaning of turning him into a cow. It's one thing to misgender someone, but completely another to add udders.
